For a real wildcat pilot, he doesn't like very much AH F4F for some reason.  :headscratch:

I want to believe really badly, that would be so cool if a 95 year old world war 2 vet was playing aces high.

That'd be news worthy.

Hey LThunderpocket, do you mind if I send reporter or two your way?

All I'm saying is this is so remarkable that I WANT to believe. I NEED to believe.  I pray to the RL and Toon gods that Wildcat is a WW2 legend and this is simply a case of documentation being lost over 70 years.  I also want to know what his secret is for staying so spry over the years.

I'd rather caution on the side of extremely gullible than calling him a liar.  I'd like to hear what he has to say about it and if he has any old documentation to share.  I want to believe really badly, that would be so cool if a 95 year old world war 2 vet was playing aces high.

Sadly we've been down this road before.  Only one has proven to be the real deal in terms of being a combat pilot.  He never claimed to be an Ace though.  That's what I can't figure out.  If you are that bent on making it up.  Don't claim to be someone that can easily be tracked down.  So far in my 15 years of cartoon piloting, I've met a 109 Ace, and a P38 Ace.  Both disappeared naturally when I started asking questions in good faith as I thought it was amazing.  We also had the infamous Ken Jr and Ken Sr of 80+ missions with the 91st BG, own our own B17 and the fake memorial for Ken Sr after he 'died'.  That was all BS too.  Not to mention that great Scorpion King.

Only Earl turned out to be the Silver Star winning, DFC winning, P39/ Jug driver from the 350th FG in the MTO.  He's still living but didn't make the transition from AW to AH.

If this guy is legit, then there should be no reason it can't be backed up, and if so, honored by the rest of us.  As is, there is nothing out there and the 'facts' he's shared aren't even close to accurate.

What about Gato (I think that was his name) someone told me he flew P38s, I dont know if it was post-war because he didnt seem very old.

He was in the 613th SOS Pariah if I remember correctly

Several years ago I flew a very small and long B-17 mission with Mr. W and we chatted on the way. I got the impression that he was not young, or pranking around, though he did say he was a Wildcat pilot which stunned me. I even think I PMed you Guppy asking if you knew the guy. Anyway, somewhere I read his profile, maybe on the AH BBS, and IIRC he also claimed to have been a firefighter or paramedic, or perhaps both, and also had a medical condition, suffering from epilepsy, which opens a different door, with medications and so forth. He may suffer from some serious health disability that, under the influence of medication, has led to where he is...

I'd like to be wrong.
