:rofl

This is one "dicta" that isn't always followed by you or your squadron mates.

ack-ack

Well of course not, but the fight we end up fighting is not always of our own volition.  We sure do try to fight the good fight though and we repent when we sin.  There is no such thing as a perfect fighter in the eyes of the one Toon God.

hear hear  :aok

another foe with honour it seems  :salute

how tight do you stick to your own rules?? my question is what happens if you keep upping to meet a guy who constantly hos... would you break your own rules to teach this guy a lesson?

I think I stick to it better than most would admit, although there are always those who (who without any substantiation) will cry "hypocrasy". In a former incarnation I did plenty of "all of the above". I took a  8 -10 month break and returned with a new way to approach the game "FOR ME". The "fun meter" swung off the chart and I was happy to be back. As I sought out "higher quality" engagements I learned more and started to become a guy some folks sought out to have a good go with. Ofcourse all situations differ but I honestly try to stay true to a style of play that "I" think is "less shabby"

To be honest if I give grief to someone who plays shabby it is cause I honestly think they are better than that! I try very hard not to berate new folks or folks who I know to be still deep in the learning curve, as these folks have every right to get kills anyway possible, and vets can easily work thru these new folks.

These things I will not do

I will not vulch, there is no reason for it and it drives away most who had the inclination to up at that base in the 1st place.

I will not enter a localized fight that started before I got there, there is some interpretaion here as "furballs" can be confusing and chaotic. When I enter a known furball I seek out those that are not currently engaged. Usually I'm attacked in short order so there is not much waiting!

An example of a localized fight is such: I am at 1K rolling with one while evading a B&Z from 2 others, along comes another that was NOT there at the beginning of the engagement this "other" bides her time then saddles up on my 6. What exactly is the point of such play? I accepted the crcumstance I was in, why toss something new into the mix? Is "name in lights" that enticing?<-- this type of play I do not do.

I do not seek out fairness, I seek challenge. I do not seek out "easy" I seek out challenge

I do not think everyone should play as I try to, but I do think it is reasonable for the AH vets to practice a higher standard of interaction.

The game is not to be taken serious and it is just a game. I can honestly say some of the most fun to be had is fighting in an area where "most" of the participents are of "known" quality and most are practicing a "higher standard" of play where folks are standing off from cherryfesting, and not to aggressive at picking, they are also fully vesting themselves in the "moment", win or lose there is an "unspoken" air of respect and admiration for the fight. These nights though becoming few and far between fuel the beast within. Many many nights VS the 80th, the pigs, the 71st, the muppets etc etc have honed my style!

Sadly the 12 hour shackles that have been secured to us all will make my style harder to maintain, it has inspired me to play less  :frown:. Maybe I'll get more "honey dos" done this year  :)

#1- HO = Badform
A: Never HO on 1st merge
B: If not damaged by 1st merge HO allow your opponent the opportunity to redeam herself by realizing you DID
NOT HO at the merge and continue accordingly
C: If you've recieved damage or your female opponent HOd on the 2nd merge then by all means give her the
"money face shot"! After all she is clearly asking for it

#2- VULCH = lame. It is NOT the "sport of kings", it is the "dance of queens"
      A: Never vulch
      B: Never vulch
      C: Never vulch

#3- CHERRYPICK AT THE EDGE OF A BASE= silly tardness.
A: Never cherrypick the edge of a base, see vulching

#4- HORDE
      A: Do not join it
      B: Always fight against it

#5- COMMIT
A: No matter the odds commit fully to your fight
B: Never "skirt lift, panty soil, scramble to the vert". Commit yourself to the fight
C: Running, If you run please COMMIT to it, DO NOT return to pik someone who just bested you

#6- Never enter a fight that you were not part of in the beginning, unless a friendly is out #d, this includes
squadies! (they never ask for help anyway)

#7- ACK, IF your opponents are giving you room to move then NEVER run to it. IF they are cherryfesting you
Then embrace it, become one with it. It is their silliness that forced the "ack hug"

#8- Become one with "JETRAGE"

#9- Never berate noobs for shabby gameplay, Always berate vets for shabby gameplay

#10- Survival is a poor excuse for timidness when there is so much revenge in the hangar  :aok

Work on your SA and you won't be "vulched" or "picked" so much.  Get your head on a swivel. Check your own 6.

There is a reason that fighters of the era had a big thick piece of glass in the windscreen...and it wasn't a HUD (nor a mirror to apply your mascara in :lol )

I will tell you though that great fights do not happen every sortie, in fact they may not happen every night.  I applaud you for sticking to your platform, but it ain't for everyone Sir.  Using tarded descriptive names to describe anything but your preferred style of flying and fighting is kind of gradeschool though. :aok

Side note:I had an awesome fight last night Yak-9 vs 190A-5.  A salute to Scotty for that one!

JUGs dicta reminds me of the story of Saburo Sakai showing frustration to Pug Sutherland with a fist shake that he was going to shoot him down knowing Pug had no ammo to fight back.  Or the beat up and dying B-17 that was escorted by a 109 back to friendly airspace...

It's about character....it may not be your kind of character....but it is character.  No leg hump here...but I agree with him its just to hard for some folks to equate "win" with a good fight and not making it back.  We all HO at times and we've all vulched.

Dodger is right again... Its about the fight. :salute

That 109 pilot was Herr Franz Stigler.  :salute

story here

I had the good fortune to have been able to communicate with Herr Stigler before his passing. I also have an autographed photo along with his ME-262 training video.

As taught to me by DMGOD to avoid the HO:  "dip down, veer left."  He did make me promise to tell others which I do often.

Do that at 1.5 to 2k out.  I found that it works just about every time.  If you're fighting the same person, vary the amount of the dip and the veer to keep them guessing.   :aok

I do so enjoy watching their bullet stream pass by to my upper right and then am especially motivated to turn them until they are no more.  :D

well i guess this works if you were on a 1v1 with the time to plan and maneuver... i am usually tied up 3v1 the least... and these guys will still ho you... my point is.. at the peak of your turn, at almost stalling speed... you fail to notice a diving plane that was hiding 3-5 k above you...and he zooms in to ho you... the only thing you can do, is either dip your nose to dive or turn to swerve away from him...using rudders... and i always get the collision msg and damage sent to me only... i bear no grudge, but move on... but it does take a toll sometimes...

so thats why i am asking jugs, what if he loses his temper or patience one fine day, maybe bad day at work, or Gf/wife problems... will he still stick by this code... even after getting constantly hoed..... cos after its a dicta, and all that mambo jumbo about being veterans have higher standards..will he ho cos he would be a sitting target for a lot of the people who will swoop in for an easy kill......but thats just my thought...

Hold the phone everyone! If you don't play like Jugler wants he is better than you because of the list provided. :old:
Please have a heart and make his cartoon life easier by committing to honor his dickta. You only think it's your 15 bucks. I'm sure he doesn't think he's better than you because he may have observed these heretofore unpublished standards of conduct and you may have not. I'm sure it may be difficult for some of you to muster the cartoon courage necessary to repeatedly spam the same fighter against overwhelming odds. Take consolation in the fact that you have more courage than your opponent and will be able to share that fact with them on 200.  Comments like "lame", "lol" and "tard" can be dished out at your leisure with a clear conscience. :rock  This method of gaming will also benefit those of you who have a 5-minute attention span and think AH should more closely resemble such outstanding titles as "Blazing Angels" :huh If you happen to be carrying out a base capture, you are to delay said plans to accommodate the gamey fun factor of the one "spawnspammer" who decides he should be allowed kills at that field. Have a heart, winning is for tards.  Thank you Jug for your insight. The source of your superiority and happiness are one and the same.

Hmm this is Dicta Juggler and nothing else, and I'm glad he shared.  He also mentioned that it is not for everyone.  Feel free to post a Dicta Tard though to show your take on things and also emphasize that it need not apply to all, just tards.   :devil

There are legitimate issues brought up.  IE: Sure HOing is lame but you have to defend yourself, not whine to influence others.  There will always be HOers in the game, period. What's worse, the HO was employed in RL. There was no provision in RL to continuously reup another aircraft at a capped field.

The overtly implied corollary of Jug's post was to proclaim a "better way" than survivalist mentalities. I find such positions untenable in the face of equally "gamey" methods on the other end of the spectrum.
