It is imperative to have a mod friendly dealer. They are out there. :)

Next time you see a G8, for that matter every time you see a G8, look at the exhaust tips :)

Nobody believes the claims for the HP and MPG boost from a simple tune until they see the dyno numbers and drive the car around enough to see the mileage improvement.  The only downside is that GM will void the warranty if they detect the tune.  Only certain dealers have the equipment and tech knowledge to detect the tune especially if the tune is returned to stock whenever the car is taken in for service, but it's possible to detect it if the tech is really good, and then the whole powertrain warranty is voided on the spot.

So I'll wait until the warranty expires and then get the tune and a CAI immediately.

bolded is a large part of why i'm looking at a few years before doing that to mine. well......that, and i truly do believe ford got this perfect.

washed her today....unfortunately, my kit from griots(thanks for kicking me in the head to remind me masher!) hasn't come in yet, so i used the automotive wash i have here, with  microfiber towel from pepboys.

jeeze!! did she get dirty FAST! thankfully, they did a decent job of waxing(although i could've sworn the salesman told me they don't wax them in new car prep), 'cause the water still beaded nicely. took a bit to dry her, since the towel from pepboys is about the size of a washcloth...the one fron griots looks better. invisible glass on the windows, and a plain old washcloth on the wheels, which again were suprisingly dirty, and she looks like the day i picked her up again.

question for you guys that are more accustomed to this.......how do you keep under the hood so nice? shuff? masher? i gotta worry about that too, as i'm not gonna keep the outside clean, and let the underhood area go to crap.........

another side note, for anyone that's not dealt with these guys.....the guy on the phone was disgustingly nice. there will be no hesitation whatsoever in dealing with them again, just because of that.....and they have cool stuff for the garage too.  :devil

something else that i just noticed this morning....and should have right off the bat. this thing has power virtually anywhere you want it. if i'm tooling along, slowing down for someone to turn, being to dam lazy to shift down outta 5th, all i gotta do is gas her, and i'm back up to speed with no hesitation. none.
i'm used to having to keep an engine in a specific rpm range in order to make them go......don't hafta do that with this one.

finally......i am STILL trying to set the parking brake with my left foot, and i STILL reach for the dash mounted release for it...... :noid :rofl

I went down to Waco yesterday to pick up my new dog.  Averaged about 75 the whole way.  She'll jump right out from under you if you hammer down at 75 to get around somebody parked in the passing lane.

Decided to go visit my parents and got on a back road where there is a nice long straight run where I got her up to 100 and she still had plenty of pedal if I wanted but that was enough stupidity on my part for one year.

And yes I called Cap to rub it in :D  He got to listen to me gripe about the mobile parking lot coming north out of Waco all the way to Hillsboro.  <S> Cap

Under hood is easy if you always... and I mean always wipe down under the hood when you wash the car. You can use tire dressing on all rubber "IF" it needs it.

Maybe once every 3 months spray around the perimeter of the underhood area with plain water. No soap needed as it just rinses any dust from tight areas. Then wipe down and run engine to warm up and completely dry. Afterwards check for spots and wipe as needed.

My 98 Z71 looked better underhood than most new cars and trucks.

Detailing is an all over event. Some just wash n wax, clean tires/rims... and they call it detailing.

A new paint job with well laid clear will bead water. It is the wear of dust and other road grome that will stop the beading.

Keeping in mind I picked it up on 8/19 I ticked over to 6000 miles while in the staging lanes last weekend.

Buddy's Z06 running mid 10s. If you want detailed, his car is immaculate.

Had to stop and take a peek at this C3 when I did a double take on the price tag. If I would have seen it in June I probably wouldn't have a Mustang (background) What a great race car project for bracket/index racing. Auto trans, good enough shape to like it but not a show car. Perfect driver for $5000.

You'll note Caps car is firmly in absence.  :neener:

before buynig that body style vette, check the fenders. they tended to crack, due to lack of support.
