gonna add a few more observations.
the HVAC, and "infotainment" system layouts.
HVAC controls are perfectly placed. if your hand is on or near the shifter, then you're easily within reach of setting the hvac system to however you want it. the dials are perfectly placed such that you can reach/adjust them withot taking your eyes off of the road. the buttons for the heated seats, and for the rear defogger are also placed such that they're usable without removing your eyes from the road.
infotainment(ford calls it that, not me!) controls are the same. they're just above the hvac controls, and switching between sirius, fm, auxilary input, or usb input are simple pushes of the button, again without looking away from the road.
for the radio itself, there's the obligatory preset buttons(10 for am, 20 for fm, and 30 for sirius). there is also the scan button, a button for scanning up or down the stations, and my favorite, the good old fashioned dial, for changing stations. i like this best, once again, due to the fact that you can easily and safely change stations, without looking away from the road. i don't admittedly change them often though.......as my friends like to say.....i'm stuck in the 80's, and that's about where my radio stays mostly.
for making phone calls, the new gt's have what no mustang has ever had, and that is built in blue tooth, with voice commands. simply hit the voice button on the steering wheel, and it mutes the radio, and gives you the choices of what you can do. simply say "phone", who you want to dial(or simply tell it the number you want to dial), and the system dials out for you.
this system works VERY well. it picks me up better than the blue tooth i wear on my ear, and it broadcasts the other persons voice through the cars stereo system. i was on the phone at 50mph, with the drivers window down, and the person i was talking with heard me perfectly.
there's more that i don't know yet, but ford(or my local ford dealer) has that covered. they have "technology" seminars 2 or 3 times a month, teaching everything that the sync system can do. they'd rather do this, than have someone complain about not knowing how to use what their car has. i've not yet attended one, but will be very soon.....and will put more updates concerning that.
now, some more driving impressions.
this car is a beast in disguise as a civil car. everything that was borderline in most other things i've driven, this thing does without batting an eyelash. she takes corners flat, and absolutely no protest. she stops on a dime, and gives me nine cents change. she's even pretty good(about a thousand times better than any other mustang i've ever driven) on wet roads, stopping, starting, and turning.
i kinda slipped up, and lost control of myself tonight, waiting for a break in traffic. got a small break, and took it. before i knew it, she was at 6500rpm, i yanked 2nd, and next thing i knew, there she was at 6500rpm again. i lifted, and got her into 3rd, and let her slow down. that was only about 3/4 throttle. at 6500rpm, she was still pulling strong. i've no doubt that she'll easily pull to her 7,000rpm redline under full throttle, and not bat an eyelash.
the biggest thing i'm learning with my mustang, is that i am not capable of nearly what i like to think i am. i will be looking into driving schools in the spring time(i'll bet rtholmes is sitting laughing at me about this one
). this is a car, that can easily get an unsuspecting driver into serious trouble, as it makes everything easy.
having owned some form of mustang all my driving life(i've been driving since 1979, and my first cars were 67 and 68 mustangs), having built, and driven daily a 12 second fox body mustang, having built 10 and 11 second mustangs for other people, having modified suspensions on both fox and sn95 chassis mustangs for better handling, and of course having dealt with all of the above in bone stock condition, i have to echo what most reviewers say.
this is the absolute best most complete mustang ford has ever produced.

golfer.......since you're in this area a lot, i'll keep you up to speed on what i find out about driving schools, as i suspect you'll probably have some fun learning to drive your beast better too.
