ME-262's
« on: December 31, 2011, 06:10:11 PM »
Aces High, if you are paying attention, you are killing the game with the 262's! Either price them much higher or restrict to 163 bases. No 262 ever shot down a aircraft outside of Germany! How can you allow them to fly over the water area's in the arena's? I thought this game was supposed to be based on factual combat conditions in WW2!
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

And that's where you are wrong.

Just for the record, did you also note that P-51's are shooting down Lancasters and B-24's are bombing US CV's? If you disable 262 because "they never did fly over water", you will have to disable about any and all things happening in the arena  ;)

Oh, and in which way are 262's killing the game? After all, the 262 is trying to do that for many many years now. You just happened to be shot down by one?

Someone got drunk on new year's eve. Welcome to Aces High, do you want me to fly straight and 200mph?

I think you are missing the point earl.  There is no way to "reenact" historical missions, or use of aircraft, in the main arenas... and there is only ONE map I can think of that is based on actual real world terrain that is used in the MA's.    In short... the main arenas are not based on anything historical except the aircraft and vehicles themselves.  Its a free for all.

If you want to see 262's used in their "historical" settings... or anything else done that way, I suggest you set your squad up in FSO.  Three Fridays a month.  Registered Squads only.  Historical Maps... Missions... & Plane-sets.  300 players split into Axis and Allied... with assigned objectives for every squad.   If you want to give it a try... let me know.  Be glad to let you fly with our squad one night to see what you think.  If you like it... (and it sounds like you will)... then turn your whole squad on to it.

To me... FSO is the high point of Aces High.   :salute

I think he's probably flying bombers mostly... in that case they are hard to avoid, unless you fly very high.

Bombers are my favorite when an enemy 262 is present...they are tempted to kill you...shoot back make them pay for it!  :aok

If your in a fighter turn into the attacker grow his aim and his timing off.  :aok  :airplane:

Other than the ground, b bomber formation is by far the greatest threat to me in a 262

Where did you read this?
"...and then we discovered why. Why this 'Cheech', who had fought with gods and demons, why he flew the Zeke. He was being kind, giving us a chance to run away."

People who run from a co-alt 1v1 and jump in after 6 of his buddies show up are the ones ruining the game, not 262's.

Please people, at least attempt to fight. I love the intense dogfights in this game. Even if you die embarrassingly, you will learn something new and can then use that experience you learned in the next fight. You can improve, and then you can out fight zekes and spits with P-38s and 190s. Trust me, it's a lot of fun to get into a fight against a superior plane and coming out victorious.  :D
