Elitism
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:09:01 AM »
So watching some of these threads, one might think that being "elitist" is like being a child molester.

I am very proud that I am an elitist.  I think everyone who plays this game should want to be the best.  Obviously that only works for a select few (a small group which has never included me), but it's a goal I think we should all strive for.

We're all pretend-fighter-pilots (well...except for the bomber guys and P-38 people).  Why would you not want to be as good as you could get?  Why would you want to denigrate that as a goal?

Lol @ Krusty-inspired threads.

+1 to you sir.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

elitism isn't about aspiring to be more. It's about condemning those you feel beneath you, instead.

Inspire all the threads you want. I'm all for aspiring to be better/best/god. However, that's not what elitist commentary is about.

-You should stay away from Krusty, he's radioactive after all
-Yes the mere existence of elites disgusts me because I've never gotten an invitation to their secretive treehouse ergo I hate them.
! BUT, we should be above all that and realize that treehouses are simply dangerous places where children routinely mock OSHA standards and don't have access to what matters most- television!  ( :bhead )

Kidding aside, using a simple reference to elitism to make a point in a separate thread probably doesn't warrant the creation of another thread...then again I should stop participating and go read rule#5 :bolt:

There was no point. Simply more dogpiling on ol'e Krusty in a vain attempt to "join the club"?

Whatever. The thread was a failure anyways :)
