umadbro?  :rofl

You're getting all worked up over my opinion of the game. If Aces High one day, ever manage to look like Wings of Prey, Battlefield or Crysis, lemme know.

Forfeit accepted.  Run along.

:lol You still haven't shown why AH stutters and lags at 40 FPS, but WoP doesn't at 30-40 FPS.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

because you arent comparing the same thing.  it's like me telling you that you have an outdated computer as I can play with no stutters at a higher resolution and you cant.   but based on your statements that most likely reason is that you dont know what your components can or cannot do.  I mean you were trying to use shadows at 8196 and complain that frame rates are low.  you are lucky your system didnt crash.

I complained about it?  :huh :headscratch:

Detailed Terrain
Detailed Water
Water Reflections
Bump Map My Vehicle/Plane
Shadow Textures - 512
Terrain Detail Range - 2.0K
"Detail or Faster" slider - Detail

With those settings, AH run flawlessly.

Detailed Terrain
Detailed Water
Water Reflections
Bump Map My Vehicle/Plane
Shadow Textures - 4096
Self Shadows On
Bump Map Terrain
Shadows on Others
Buildings Cast Shadows
Bump Map Others
Terrain Detail Range - 2.0K
"Detail or Faster" slider - Detail

With these settings, AH begins to stutter in the mid 30-40 FPS.

Turn on smooth shadows or 8192 shadows and AH turns into singe digits and is unplayable.

I've tried turning each settings on one by one, the moment I change a setting that is not this:

Detailed Water

Terrain Detail Range - 2.0K

the game begins to lag/stutter.

Do pray tell then why my performance in AH is mediocre and the graphics are still bad. Yet my performance in Wings of Prey is flawless and the graphics make AH look like poo?

i know another mmo sim that will choke your system down if you try to max out the graphics settings including shadows, with only 20 people on the same map as you...

People always seem to forget a few key aspects when comparing games.

1. Visibility distance, I.E. how far can you see. AH is normally set about 18 mile radius.
2. World size AH is 512x512 miles.
3. How do things look good from both ground vehicles and planes.

These are all design choices that greatly effect where you put the graphic resources.

Something that has always blown my mind about AH has been the intricacy of details you can see that are directly network related...

Watching another player rotate a gun turret on their bomber (or yours) in real time....   SEEING a turret moving on a GV a mile away and actually being able to tell where he's looking, and how fast he is traversing his turret...

Last night, I was hiding in a bush at the map room in a town (M3)... there was a Tiger I searching for me... I could hear exactly where he was, hear his turret, etc...

These are absolutely amazing feats in a truly open, seamless world.  It's one thing to see such a thing in a tiny Battlefield or Call of Duty map... it's something entirely different when it's modeled in a life-sized arena.

They forget another key aspect; the folks at HTC allow you to discuss other games.

You do that on the other game forums and you will catch hell, have your post edited, and possibly even suffer a ban.
