Remember how the Me410 was the battle cry of some people?  It was added and it is good for 1 thing: killing bombers.  Not intercepting, not ground pounding, not dogfighting, etc.  Just killing bombers.  The Me410 handles like a pig at all speeds.  I guess my point is this P61 may be all the same, meaning lots of hype and it looks good on paper but when it comes to taking the time to learn the plane most players will go back to their P51D and go about as they were. YMMV
I have to disagree.  The Me410 performs pretty much exactly like I expected.  The P-61 was said to be extremely maneuverable, a charge I have never seen laid against the Me410.  In addition the P-61's 6400lbs of ord would make it such a good attack aircraft it would probably have to be perked.

There are LOTS of other aircraft that made a larger imprint in WWII than the P61 that deserve to be added.
On this I agree fully.

I don't get you plane snob types, just because one plane is added doesn't mean another won't.

Actually, for the patch in which a plane is released it means exactly that another wasn't added.  It is just a matter of what comes before what.

I agree with Karnak. We already have a bunch of American planes in game. We should give the other guys a chance to fill their spots. I just think that the P-61 is a plane that should be added. It's one of my favorites by far.

If HTC keeps turning out two planes an update (kind of hope they don't just to avoid all the bugs that came about last time), then they could release one plane that fills a gap and one plane that doesn't in each update.

Since the B-29 has been added we've received the SeaHurri, Lancasters,  P-40s, Ki-43, He-111, M-18, Panzers, Tiger 2, Ju-87s and the Me-410.  Not saying we didn't need those, but it would be nice to see a Beau/Widow update package.

Just be aware that the P-61B, the version I'd want added, would almost certainly have to be perked due to its air-to-ground capability.

In my research I have yet to see a count on daylight vs nighttime kills, but have found that a total of 127 downed aircraft, plus 18 V-1s. But as the war was winding down and the lack of enemy aircraft the 61 was sent on daylight attack raids in the ETO.

I really don't think it would have to be perked, it could only carry under the wings, in 4 hard mounts, so you got a choice between HVARs or bombs. The bombs would have been up to 1600lbs, but just because it can carry doesn't mean it did carry; I'll do some research, but I'd bet that typical load out would be 500lbrs or 1000lbrs.

In game a 61 with 4000lbs under the wing would be pig, and easy prey.

I would not be at all shocked to see a screenshot of a Beaufighter on the home page in the next two or three months.

Dang! 800 20mm cannon rounds and 2000+ 50 cal ammo. Deffinitly going to be perked(more likely diue to the large bombs it can hang)

Along the lines of the B-29 if not more costly.

And it's not like a plane that is really needed to fill event gaps.
