I was just looking at my stats for tour 34...

I flew the SBD as a fighter quite a bit, and finished with 62 kills in the SBD (55 of them aircraft) and 22 deaths... What was I thinking?  :headscratch:
SBD is beast mode for me :P

A6M2 Zero.

I started flying Spitfires and 109s regularly after a few months of training with the Zero. I still like to use the Zeros even so, depending on the situation. It's all about agility.

My main ride progression in AH

The first time I played I flew the Yak because thats what I flew in Air Warrior.
Yak here didnt fly like the Yak in AW so I switched to the FM2 which was my main ride for a long while. Because I could fly it like I flew the Yak in Air Warrior.

I then moved onto the Typhoon. Flew that as my main ride I think for over a year.

Then I moved onto the NIKI and flew that for over a year.

Then I few the 110G and 109F setting on the 109F for at least a couple of years.
Started dallying with the 190's and spent about 6 months with the A5 but eventually settling on the D9 where I have been ever since

All during my time here I've also dabbled a bit in most of the planes. If nothing else its the best way to learn how to kill them. The only plane I dont and wont fly is the spit.

Oh, I did spend a month in the C202 after letting the folks here on the boards pick my ride for a month

Started AH in the P-38L and then switched over to the P-38J when it was added.

The 202 used to be good perk farmer, turned and climbed like the old spit9. It got nerfed when aces high II came out. My first flight in AH2 I was in a 202, got in a low speed, flat turning fight with an la7 on the deck and it out turned me without much trouble. I wasn't in kansas anymore. I'm not sure if the new FM made high wing load planes turn better or low wing load planes turn worse.

I always thought of the P51 and the Corsair as the two American planes of the war, so I fly them because that's what I thought of as a boy. I still fly them.

Flew the Niki as my main ride for the first 1-2 months, then for the third month I went Hurricane 1. Flew that almost exclusively, and ended my first tour with a + K/D.

Now I cannot fly a plane for more then a few times before I am looking to pick another one.

True I will never master one plane, but I am never really shocked about what a plane can do... except that brewster! JK Wmaker

Before I subscribed, I burned up my brother's perks on Tempests. Yeah, that pissed him off! :bolt:

From the time I subscribed nearly 10 years ago up to now, I love the Yaks. Short on ammo, but it's agile.

As far as anything with four engines...    From the time I started, the B17 is my all time favorite and always will be. Durable, lethal, and an all-around fun plane.

I logged into the arena for the first time and there were two planes attacking the field.

I upped a N1K2 and got two quick kills in my first 6 minutes of playing and never flew it again and was worried that everything was that easy.

Well.....I did fly it once more to check super high altitude performance.

I stopped worrying after flying the 110g a few times.

We only had 5 or 6 planes when I started....it was one of those. :old:

Yak 9U (holdover from Warbirds) was always my favorite, can't remember if it was one of the 1st planes though. If anyone can remember what the original planeset was I'd welcome a kick in the brainpan.

These days you'll mostly find me in a P47 D-11.

I seem to recall the beta planes as N1K, spit9, 51D and the 190A8, but I am old, memory kind of shot.

Bf109G-2
Bf109G-6
Bf109G-10 (was really a Bf109K-4, but called a G-10 to excuse the 20mm options)
C.205
C-47A
F4U-1D
Fw190A-8
La-5FN
N1K2-J
P-51D

The first squad I was in flew the Spit XI most frequently, so I did too. Learned it didn't really fit my preferred flight profile. I marveled at the success people like AKDogg were having in the Hog's so I grabbed a trainer (TC) and learned its tricks.

Few hogs most always until I tried a 47M. Since I hate running, picking pony drivers I found I could either scare off, or catch them in an M, which pleased me, so it became my primary ride.  I also find killing bombers is good sport and 8 .50's makes them burn pretty.

Lately I have been dabbling in the 47-d11 to make it a bit more of a challenge. Getting almost 5 perks a kill is also fun.

Started with just about everything in the hanger, but mainly the P51 because of the history and the Spit XVI because i needed training wheels to learn ACM. That quickly transferred over to the F6F and F4U's, as I like the turn fights and they're flap and rudder monsters. I like to spend most of my time in the F4U-1A now. I don't play as often as i use to so i have a rust build up.

Sounds a lot like me, 'cept I like teh Spit9 instead of the XVI, but for teh same reasons. <why can't I stop typing "teh"?> Anyway, after many fun fights between me in my pony and Reschke in his F4U-1/ 1A, I took a real interest in teh Hog <damn there it is again!>.
