:rofl

gotta love the Muppet hate......

you asked for opinions...you got what you asked for......and that upset you :headscratch:

and any muppet who was fighting that spit would have turned on him and killed him....or died trying.... :uhoh

....besides I thought my response was very much none "ridicule".

obviously the truth is hard to handle for most.
I don't hate on the Muppets and I agree you would have turned and killed him sooner probably. If I were in a KI84 sure I'd of turned more. If I were in a K4 sure I would have taken him up faster. But I wasn't.  But that also goes back to what I said about the countless DA hours you guys put in. I've heard your opinions and now I'm responding to them as I think what I did what perfectly okay and in no way lame. Must I be lame because I didn't handle the fight as you would? You yourself have said in the past no two dogfights are alike.
Ink you told me one time in the DA when I was ina 47 to grab a KI84 because it was something better suited for a dogfight....you remember that? I do. So what all of the sudden makes this situation different? You guys act as if I should be ashamed of not giving BE a easy kill. Because that's what it would have been. I had 100% fuel and was at 150 ias when the leveled out spit1 was in sight. I really wish I could see how any of you would of handled that situation. Because apparently you guys have all the answers to every dogfight that comes your way. No matter the matchup or alt you've got it handled.

P.S. I'm not upset but rather quite surprised and disappointed that some of you think that using my planes advantage in that particular way is somehow wrong. Should I have dove away giving him alt advantage too ?

if you re-read my first response you will see I did not say you did anything wrong.....I even said he cant expect you to turn with his spit1.... (BTW there are other ways to win the fight then just turning)

it was boring...that is the truth......

I die all the time.... just about every sortie....so...no  I don't care about dieing in any way or losing a fight....yes I would have tried to kill him for sure....and if I loose...what the hell does it matter...I get a brand new plane every time.... :aok

the more you try to win...the more you will win.....you did not try to win the fight...you tried to stay alive...

then again some think staying "alive" is "winning"

I think actually fighting is winning whether I "win" the fight or not....

again though you know these boards......you get what you ask...you asked for opinions on whether its lame or not...you got that. :D

What you guys are forgetting is that most of us don't have countless hours and thousands of sorties in the DA. Hell I never even owned a computer until 3 years after you registered on the BBS.
What I learn I learn by trial and error in the MA and watching what others do. Of course I don't want to lose a dogfight.....who does? You're the same way or you wouldn't have spent the time you have learning and polishing your ACM over the years. So who here is really the one's that doesn't want to lose a dogfight?

From where I sit I see a clique of guys that specialize in dueling and then come to the boards and ridicule others about how crappy they fly. If you guys are really the authority on how to win fights, you'd all be flying Early war planes instead of these KI84s, K4s, 262s and LA7s I see you all in. When was the last time any of you flew a I16 or a P40 in the main arena?

Come to think of it I can't count how many times I've seen the Muppets do the same exact thing to guys in their K4s yet they aren't labeled "lame". Guys like TonyJoey you all hold up as a shining example of awesome skills when in reality all he does is pick the outside of furballs in a 51 and holding a 43 to 1 K/D  :lol Then when he comes to the BBS you all can't tell him..... and the rest of us enough just how great he is  :lol C'mon man!

you miss understood me.  I never said anything about not wanting to lose a fight. I said afraid of loosing a fight. Big difference. Check my score, I lose more than I win.

As for the LA7, it is the only way I can catch people in the MA.

P40, I used to fly it regularly but the one ping flap damage got old. Not sure if it has been fixed.

My point remains the same. You can only learn by trying, not avoiding. You can spend countless hours climbing and avoiding or you can spend them fighting. Thats is your choice but dont blame me for the choice you made.

Finally, you asked and I responded. Nothing to be upset about. It is only an opinion on one fight.

For years I flew in the MA, DA, FSO, Scenarios blah blah. Playing the game how you spend your $15 is all that matters as for now I really have none - most of the achievements I've completed some point or another, there is nothing left to prove in Aces other then have some fun until I quit again due to life.

/I really don't even have any goals left to fill in aces I literally accomplished everything I wanted, fact is I just want to fly a few more FSOs and zip around the MA until either life craps on me again or I end up walking away for good, but frankly I'm glad I came back because I paid way to much damn money for these Thrustmasters, if someone wants some goals to accomplish I can give a few - but frankly thats what the damn achievements are for LOL

Seems no matter how much you want to find a fight, you will not be able to find it from some.

That's not a statement about your film. Shortly after you two were arguing on 200 about it and the reset, I was trying to get an La7 to fight me. I was in a TBM, was already pinged by ack a couple of times and here this La7 runs away from me. He came in, let out a short cannon burst which he landed a couple. Now I'm there with fuel leaking and he tries to BnZ a couple of times and doesn't get the proper angle, after that he runs away. Mind you his base was close, I was the only con in his sector for the last 10mins prior and this was when all of 20 Knights and 20 Rooks were on vs. the 35 Bish and most were gv'ing giving the lack of darbar, i.e. there was no other fight to be found anywhere around us. Yet he flew away. His dar was up and knew where I was when he took off (I took out the dar shortly before he visually located me.)

Point is he was after me and refused to fight a TBM in an La7. He put a couple of cannon in me and flew away because he couldn't get a BnZ angle. Furthermore, he's a top 200 ranked ftr with ~150kills/150sorties and 70 assists. Someone like that shouldn't be running away from a twin50 armed plane..but hey I couldn't make it any more uneven for me and nor can I make him come back and fight me...ppl are always going to play how they want to.

I know who it was because I was out of fuel, I made it inside my dar ring but had to bail and he got the kill, waiting for it on the runway/rearming I suppose.
They're casting their bait over there, see?

Now, to be fair, you asked what people thought.  Dedalos' observation that a P-47 should be able to defeat a Spit I, even in a close-in fight, shouldn't be rejected simply because he has more experience than we do.

So basically what I should have done according to some of you is try and turn with a plane that turns like a bat and is 10 thousand pounds lighter just to make it a more entertaining fight? I'm sorry but homie don't play dat. I could of very well just dove away and ran to my ack seeing as my field was right under me the whole time. At least I tried to stay in the fight and did what I thought was right at the time to win. But do I get credit for doing that? Funk no. But instead I get insulted by some of you because you would have done it all so much better. You would have made the fight exciting! Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead because I'm a fighter ace!!!

You know, I haven't been flying the 47 exclusively until recently and too am in a learning stage with it as far as what I can and can't do in it. But what I do know about it is it's big and heavy and meant for the high alt fight. Not for slow on the deck scrapping with spitfires. I don't claim to be the best nor do I taught folks on 200 when I win or lose. I saluted BE and what do I get? I'm lame was his response. I think the poor sportsmanship he shown was lame. But that's okay. You all can overlook that.... because what's really important is the fight to show just who is da man is right?

Some of you guys are so wrapped up in your tough guy macho man attitudes that unless everyone does what you would do or fly like you say is correct they are lame or somehow suck. Well I'm sorry some of you were bored, but when you guys start paying my 15 bucks a month to play this game then I'll start making big exciting feature length films to keep you all on the edge of your seats gripping your manhood.

don't get me wrong, i personally think what you did is fine

but you asked people to post their opinions, and now you're getting upset because some of the posted opinions are against you  :headscratch:

did you just want an excuse to have a rant? u drunk again bro?
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

First, i havent seen the film as i dont have AH on my puter now.

But i wouldnt dogfight against a Spitfire I in my Dora - just saying. Would let him be and would look for an other, more suitable target though.
Other thing, i wouldnt up a Spitfire of any kind for the Gods sake.
