Ordered the 7790 as per toms advice, decent price and looks pretty stout,, it's an asus brand, we shall see

we shall see is right.

newegg has the ASUS 660Ti for 50$ less than the other names. all the others are in the 300$ range.

is ASUS brand to be avoided?

the asus directCU series is pretty neat even tho it doesn't blow the heat outside the case. Solid cards.

xfx did have the dual lifetime warranty. you need to register it. then if you sell it the person who buys it needs to register it and they get the warranty. has to be registered within 30 days.
evga also has lifetime on some of their cards

What kind do you recommend for 200 :salute
My video card will operate AH2 HiRes downloaded textures at 60 frames, maxed out graphics. It's a lower end video card, but It gets the job done for $40.

But that will all depend on your other specs  :D

I kind of doubt that you have everything on.  you must be playing with 512 graphics.  much better cards than yours struggle to play with 2048 shadows and everything on at full max.  I am not even gonna mention em as I know you dont have that on for sure.

Everything is maxed sir. I spent 15 minutes making sure my VC would run AH2 at full res and high textures. It will. In my opinion the thing isn't low-end for it's price and capability, but that's what others think because they haven't tried to run with it, because it "can't run alot of games due to low quality" A friend took a look at my video card and said his one with about 3x the price would outperform mine. I'm running skyrim on higher resolutions than he is. He gets 20 some frames, and I get 30-40.  :D

nope, it cannot. Had the 4670 in my old puter, yes, it can run AH well, but i had to take serious compromisses in AA and some newer eye candy. And thats a lot more powerful card than the 6450.

If my MB supports only PCie 2.0, will cards listed for 3.0 not work?

They will work.  PCIe is always backward compatible but you won't be able to take full advantage of the higher transfer rates.
