Favourite rides for the uphill fight

Hi guys,
Just out of curiosity, (and a real need to know...LOL), would anybody like to share their favourite rides for upping at a capped base. I have always tried a Spit, and of course, have usually died.
Recently, I have tried a NIK, but, (can you guess???) usually die.
OK, I just usually die, no matter what.
Anyway, upping from a capped base provides a few seconds of heart thumping, frantic action, and is incredibly fun. Is there a foolproof airplane for the job?

Hmmm i usually up a ki-43 or if there is a nearby carrier a fm2 because they are great turners ...i usually die too lol

my go to's are the Spit 9, Hurri 2 with the 4 x 20mm, Yak 3, and Yak 9T if there are soft vehicles in the area.

Show off!!! Canfod said best PLANE lol    As for me, Spit16. I usually up with the bombs when vehicles are around or the spit9 if just a furball. I see the Brewster a lot in a capped situation also.

Ki84 or La5/7. Mostly the Ki84  though because its a great defensive fighter. It's one of the best planes to roll when fighting CV planes off shore. It had the bullets to take down planes after an over shoot.

Never have been a real great fighter pilot, but I have always loved the nimble Yak9u.

Personally I like using the Brewster or KI-43.  I feel like I see a lot of others going for spot 16, LA7 and Yak3.

#1  Up from one base back in a really slow ride and hope the bad guys are still around by the time you get there. 
#2  Drop on bad guys in futile attempt to kill them.
#3  Bad guys laugh and run away.
#4  Friendlies run bad guys down and kill them.
#5  Watch text buffer rack up multiple assists.
