Removing 200 cross country chat is insane. Nobody is forcing you to tune into it besides yourself.  Its as easy as 3 clicks and you won't ever see 200 chat again.

Please change everything I request and never change anything I don't request. Thank you have a nice day.

I hear "cord puller" all of the time, is there anyone here that actually knows someone that has done this successfully?

I like channel 200 overall. There are lots of friendly players to chat with.

On the other hand, there are couple players that routinely call me a cheat.....so I use the squelch text by right clicking on their call-sign on the roster. They cannot pm me or send me nonsense on 200. End of problem. HiTech gave us a solution. Use it.

Some players witness internet lag and other internet related things like a plane or tank warping and immediately think the other player is cheating when they die.  CORD PULLER  is often shouted on range or country channel  :D. There is nothing any of us can do about that. Squelch their text and ignore them.

We have players as far away as New Zealand or Australia and they often take 3 or 4 seconds to blow up, and it seems they were able to get their shot off even though you saw them explode. What they saw on their screen is not what you saw on your screen at the very same instance. Players that use satellite to connect to the game also display lots of latency and loss of packets and they appear to warp allot. Those player often think that you are cheating because of what they saw on their monitor. I connect to the game with a fiber optic connection that has great download and upload speeds but there are allot of hops (internet nodes) between the AH server and my isp so even with a good connect I sometimes experience loss of packets and once in awhile I disco because the internet burped somewhere.

Don't let the rotten apples ruin the game for you. Squelch instead. Have fun.  :aok

My two cents.

Of course there is.  Certain M-18's and panthers seem to magically tower out when you get them turreted.  I've sent six rounds into some of these, inside of 1000 yards, got them smoking, and then they up and disappear.  Stay in the area long enough, and you'll figure who it was.  Then just get them smoking again, see them disappear, and then look at the roster and the player is magically no longer on line.  But give him a minute to log back in, and he pops up again in the area.

I enjoyed the peace and quite. Come on we all know how toxic 200 could get, and we all know about the nasty PM's. While I miss being able to communicate with friends in the other countries, I'll adapt.

Simply detuning 200 is not the answer.  200 serves as a in game forum if you will that allows those from different sides to say hi to each other, compliment others and display some seriously twisted humor.  :rofl     I usually have 200 on so I can benefit from the positive aspects of 200.  Unfortunately it seems like 15 to 20% of the comments on 200 are positive, while the remaining 80 to 85% are negative.  Many of the negative comments are vicious.  We may want to kid ourselves and say the guy who posted the negative comment on steam (one of many) is just too weak or thin skinned, but he was fairly accurate in his description of what the situation in the game is like. So it seems HiTech has a few choices: 1. Give back 200 and nothing changes and more players get fed up and leave or new ones won't put up with it, 2. Don't give back 200 and some players might leave, but probably not as many as would with choice #1, or 3. Heavily monitor 200 and boot a lot of whiners and flamers, but takes time and money to babysit supposed adults. I really don't know what the answer is, but I applaud HiTech for the effort to find a solution to this issue.

AH is the most civil online gaming community I’ve ever been in, way nicer than aw even. AH doesn’t have a toxic community as these malcontents would have people believe. That review you quoted is ridiculous and exaggerated.

“They seem nice until you get to know them and then you realize that they’re psychopaths!!”

C’mon man. Your going to take that review seriously.

And the number one reason people quit multiplayer games is (drum roll)... “Every one is a jerk!”

Don’t fall for the hype.

If people read these types if reviews and make decisions based off if these reviews, He has no choice but to take them serious. It's easy for us to brush them aside as we don't depend on a growing player base to pay our bills.

What happen with people who had a right to mute others for posting stupid stuff ?

Personally i'm not bothered by 200 banter. When it gets too retarded - i detune it.
But i do like the option of being able to chat with my friends from other countries, comment on a fight with someone, etc.

Maybe we could go back to the times when few "reasonable" and unnamed community members can mute the morons posting "ur totally tubular cheater" stuff on 200 ?

As for the client review - i doubt that it was a new player. I found most people very helpful for those identified as new players.

Perhaps the real problem is the pace of action is so slow you have to kill time with a chat-room.  ;)

Toxic, psychotic, self-aggrandizing drama queens simply aren't worth me spending my time on.

You know I see some of you be moaning the closing of 200 but no one actually touching on the real problem that caused it's closing (temporary?).  Folks literally being jerks.  Finding cutesy ways of typing F off or suck my male parts, or worse and done in a way that a mod can't really do anything about it. However an intelligent human being can understand what is being said. (Some actual 200 offenders I see in this thread right now) and that type of crap is just not healthy for this game.  The community was not self policing so now Hitech is.  I get it.  It is a step in the right direction and I hope it helps clean up the cess pool.
