So what do you like about 1.09??

'Yes but APART from the spitfire I,Hurricane I,109E4, 110g2, 110c4,ki-67, the film editor, the future introduction of larger map and the base under attack warning which we asked for................
WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS EVER DONE FOR US????'

'well the streets are safe to walk at night!'

'F*&k off!!!'

:D

seriously people GIVE IT SOME TIME. no one likes features until they find them usefull and/or get used to them.A perfect example of this is when you buy a flight sim and the veiw system doesnt work as well at AH's.You immediately find it frustrating and makes you dislike the game(il2) BUT in time it becomes familiar and you grow to like it.
My intitial take on the base warning and sirens is that they are excellent and really more realistic than having milkrunners taking bases without anyone seeing a thing! I for one am glad it scuppers the milkrunners.

The base flashing as far as i have seen gives the 'fast fight' guys a chance to find a fight very quickly, but who do we see moaning about it?.
if you want the warnings to stop then you have to attack the CORRECT targets.Didnt HTC say that the warnings will be possible to stop by attacking the radio shack? I thought i read that somewhere. If it means waiting until the new 512x512 map to see this then im fine with it.So far it has hardly affcted the way I play AH at all.

As for the voice, again Im willing to give it LONGER than a few days before i start whining at HTC who are obviously trying to add features for their customers to ENJOY!. jesus christ give it a few weeks at least.

I intend to test it out before i make a decision. If we jump down HTCs throat for trying out new features and threaten to quit for EVERY new introduction they will become just like the big software companies. They wont take the risk on the additions and the game will stagnate for their long term customers. It will be superceeded by other online sims that start up and who have nothing to lose by trying new ideas.
I for one tip my hat to HTC for what they try to give us.I may not like some features but at least im willing to see if they work first.

well hazed.. I don't know who asked for blinking bases or who asked to forced to fight the "correct" bases but it wasn't me.   I don't like haveing every rest stop and Howard Johnsons named on the map either.   And, contrary to your theory... I haven't gotten used to it yet.  It is just a big confusing mess.   No... What I want is the bases named and good dar.   I can figure ut what kind of fight or tell my squaddies where I am from that.

And the voice thing... It also cuts all sound when some lameo is spouting off.   I certainly didn't ask for that.   Cracks me up.   I think the whole AH voice thing got started because some of the lamer players whined to HTC that "nobody would play with them".  I don't need to have people be forced to talk to me.  I don't see why we can't simply turn the whole thing off.

and swagger... "our" Tokyo rose is plenty confusing (and annoying).   The comaparrison is legit.. I renamed the file.

Man, I need to trade in being the guy who's trying to build something up for being the guy who's trying to tear it down. Being the blabbering drunk was always so much easier. Having no accountability has it's advantages, huh creamo?

koo! koo!

:)

BTW, I really miss flying with my squaddies in the MA and flying against the FDB's. Being penned up in the CT all the time with 25 other people isn't always fun, but I volunteered to help with the setup of the CT, so I fly there 95% of the time. We've been trying  to get new terrains for it, getting the perks right, etc. You don't know what all is involved. That's why it can get under my skin when somebody just slams it for no good reason. Especially somebody like you, who has done nothing at all that I can remember to contribute to anything here, other than boozonics humor, which I admit is pretty funny at times. But who couldn't do that with little effort?

You can have the last word....

Laz2 goto setup/voice
Move the effect volume slider to the right.
Move the Play volume all the way to the left.

This will allow you to play in your own quite little world
with out your other sounds being effected.

er read what i said. give it some time. you have been playing it for what ? 5 days? and as you so often spouted before you only get 1 or 2 hours to fly in a day so you want to get to the fight quickly.
lets see if you can do your math laz? ah ill do it for you 10 hours maximum. and i doubt youve even flown that much?

laz its a sound file!! change it, rename it, its gone!!
are you now claiming HTC put the voice to mimic tokyo rose in order to insult people or something???if youre not then why even mention it? My guess it was a bit of fun in the HTC office and they got a friend to say it for them.

People like you make me not want to be involved with the BB or the 'community' and here you are claiming evryone else is annoying you! its laughable.

HiTech, any chance of getting separate volume sliders for the room and range channel?  (or is that already the case.)  I think Lazs is saying he wouldn't mind talking to his squaddies, he just doesn't want to hear all the other Rook players flying around him as well.

Lazs, if the room and range channel volumes could ever be separated, you could get squad only AHVoice comms by typing .radio 5 4 in the buffer or typing 4 into the V box directly.  That should allow you to communicate with squaddies only on the room channel, and guarantee only squaddies could talk to you over it.  Right now, you're still stuck with the range channel though.  In any event, just do as HiTech says and kill the volume.  Fire up RW and use it as an external application after unmapping any keys for AHVoice transmits.  It works fine.  HiTech asked us not to use AHV for the scenario on Saturday, so I hosted a RW session (using the older non-spyware version mind you) and all my scenario squaddies were able to connect and converse on it.

A 110 shot down my LA-7 last night. I feel this reflects an arena wide flaw in the physics and logic of AH. Please fix this newly introduced problem, in 1.08 I was never shot down by a 110 and I feel this new feature detracts from the game. I certainly didnt ask for a feature where I get shot down.

And it's sure nice to see lazs back doing what he's best at.

thank you nifty... that is exactly what I want in regards to AH Voice.   This cracks me up... all the knee pad legion is in prime form... Imagine if someone had intruded on their squad channel by accident before 1.09 came out.   Now it's cool?

I have always thought the auto 6 call feature was pure dweebery.

Im thinking the range voice feature trumps the auto 6 call.

You can either just rely on typing anf text buffer or you can monitor and use range channel to get and give 6 calls.

KILL THE AUTO 6 CALL.  It fakery and dweebish

don't know about that but I am tuned to "squad" and I hear other people in the "room".   We (squaddies and I) tried the "squelch room" command and it worked for a little while but then we got people horning in.

I don't want to hear anyone on the radio that I didn't ask for.   In this case... no one but squadmates.   I would still like to give others (and recieve) six calls using the "check six" function as I believe that robbing the cowardly B&Zers of kills is a step towards making the world a better place.
