Evildingo, yep. It does sound stupid, and it looked even more ridiculous.

I cannot believe the lengths kids would go to just to try to down a 262. It's pretty funny actually hehe.

Watching the reactions of people encountering a 200 point perk was almost as fun as flying it. Soon as I get another 200, Im up again.

I cannot believe the lengths kids go to build up  enough perks to fly a 262.  It's pretty funny actually.  HeHe!  :)

Listening to the reactions of people losing a 200 point perk is almost as fun as downing one.
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Really the best part is: "Goons wanted to ramm me!"  :D  Damn I spilled my coffee! I just could not help myself not to imagine the 262 being attacked by 2 ship of C-47s thats too much :)

OK tell me now - When you are flying the multi hundered perk point plane the way it is not supposed to be flown (understand it as LOW and SLOW) how can you blame any enemy pilot for picking you? Damn! If im high and see lower con what do I do? Well I just fly away ignoring him and I look for a coalt and co E enemy to have a fair fight!  NO! I dont really do that... Instead I just go nose down and engage him ......  And no! I really dont find anything wrong about it. Anyne else does it to me when Im in tempest and I find myself low so why shouldn't I do that to them? :)

Come on its just a game and one more thing! As mentioned and explained by HTC so many times in past. Intentional ramming is NOT the way colision system works in here... :p

I'd imagine on a sweep mission during ww2 if a p51 wing spotted a 262 going slow u can bet the chase is on!! even if the 262 was a few thousand feet below +)

I was not flying SLOW, I had swooped down into a valley to 86 some spit upping, and that's when a whole host of low flying, slow flying enemy cons tried to get me...

I blew through so fast it was not a problem...

I got my first Spit14 kill last night.  I was in a Spit V.  Was the second easiest kill I had all night.  Guy was low and not too fast and he latched onto a P-47 that was after something else.  I called out over range channel to the P-47 that he had company and I was OTW.  I dropped down behind the Spit XIV, saddled up about 250 yards out and ripped him in half.   Wasn't very satisfying though, maybe I shoulda used the 303's to make the encounter last longer.  ;)

If you die in a ram, it's your fault.  You die in a HO (not talking about a front quarter shot that results from manuevering, but the accept a HO from someone that starts out over d2.0 away), it's your fault.

OK...

C-47's tried to ram you.

You flew a near supersonic perk plane down to the deck to off a plane just launching and then complain that all the other planes in the area that you must have ignored engaged you?

Botabing, you are a moron.

AK has my vote for the "most simple and to the point response" with "Botabing, you are a moron. "

My question is why were you running, I'd engage and climb, engage, climb.  Not running away, you have a 30mm equipped plane!  Thunderbolt would be the toughest but, again a 30mm will make mince meat out of anything out there, save CV's (I wish wood splinters could be shown).

I have shot down 2 spit 14's in my Pony of choice.  Am I the best "computer pilot" in here, not even on my best day.    Some days your so hot, the local FD, has to cool you off with a fire hose, other days, the fire never started.

Rude, we have a nomination for you!!!!

AhDejaVu, say that in person. Unless youre willing, keep your personal insults to yourself. They aren't in any way constructive.

The point of this thread is that I thought the reactions of people around me to seeing a 262 were funny. The title was not "Hey AKDejaVu come act like an amazinhunk"

The base I was attacking had about 10-15 cons in the air, it was merely a matter of selection. They were all "upping" its not as if I vulched in a 262 then came to complain when ack got me LOL. The point is, people act like total freaks and stop at nothing to get a 262.

p.s.

The moment youre ready to back up your personal insults, let me know. I'll be happy to arrange a time and place.

There is no room for calling people names when they did nothing to you to deserve it. Keep that crap on the quake forums.

The odds of people treating each other like that face to face are a lot lower, so I'm more than happy to offer.

LOL...

I lost my 262 the other night by being, well, stooopid.  In that NDISLES map, Knits grabbed 61 and pressed on for 59 and a few other bases.  I followed a group of Lancs that creamed the HQ and was just doing some recon on 59 to see who was there for cons.  Many low cons well under me, but this IS a 262 and you gotta buzz em and yell NYAH NYAH at the screen.

Anyways, I found a 190 at co alt and decided to buzz by him, not really intended to fire at or get into a HO encounter with.  Well, he turned to me, and i made no effort to turn away...so a D 1.4k I opened up and made a hard vertical move.  I have no idea what happened after that, as I was sitting in the tower.  The gent who killed me reported I'd rammed him, and that he opened fire at d700 showing multiple hits.  I estimate i was doing 500+ and on a dialup connect that's been pinging 120ms lately, dunno if we had a warp, or he hit me so hard and fast, I simply exploded.

Haha...for 200 perks, I wouldve preferred a more glamorous death  But oh well, my bad.  Back to the 234s now  :)

Flying the Tempest on this tour I've noticed that threat of HO's occurs more than in non-perk plane. Everyone wants to kill perk plane, even if it'd require some kamikaze attitude. The positive side of the perk plane flying is that atleast for me, my SA has never been better. Makes you think before engage, for me that it's totally new aspect of this game! :D

BotaBing, remember that in 262, you have the ultimate option to disengage at will.
If you want fast and good ride with less than half of the price of the 262, try Tempest, you still have lots of options in it :)
