If you have a pop-up buster (the thing that you download so that you can surf porn without the pop-up's), make sure it is switched off. Some of those pop-up busters have a nasty habit of sharing the registry keys which other legitimate programs need and often cause trouble like hanging the pc while playing games.
Games often use the same registry key that is needed to pop-up a menu or a *.gif image (such as continuous firing image - which is actually a looped animated gif) and the pop-up buster might hang your pc when it tries to shut that.

so your on a T-1 connection eh ??? because if your not id like to know who has 1500kbps  regular dsl connects .

But ill tell you one thing even with dsl / hi speed connects there can be routing / server problems . I myself had a bad card at my isp and i discoed every 20 min's and couldnt download a thing for over a month ...  So Go get ping plotter and test your connection and stop the bs and getting mad at us here . We are trying to help you !!!

when my connect was bad  id pull up ping plotter and test it right away . thats how i found out it was at my isp . and in there routing. ping plotter

You need to post the full parameters of your system also ...you nitwit so you can be helped  instead of name calling

also post your operating system 98 me xp ect ... what drivers your using and version of Direct X  ,  also if your on a linksy router , and what type of firewall your running, ect ... Do you understand yet ????  Heck you could have a virous or worm on ur machine also ... have you checked your resources and scanned for bugs ???
If you cant get with the correct trouble shooting program here well then Good ridiance ... one less internet user Ahhhh that means more bandwith for me :D   ok im done with this one

I had some connection problems a few days ago pand. I'd get close to a con and he'd start jerking around. No discoes that I recall. It just seems to have gotten better for me. Most connx probs should be solved when HTC gets their servers moved.

I'm just wondering how many people that post their specs and all their information actually get a problem fixed.  HTC is like, oh well, it may not like an AMD 1800XP+ with particular sound card.... hey, lets spend 100 hours developing and trying to solve the bug for this guy... I doubt it.  I'm not asking for help, I was just frustrated and dissapointed.  

I remember back in the day, I believe it was warbirds.  I remember also, warbirds used to be free.  That was called "beta" testing.  I'm glad we're all paying to be beta testers.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned this discussion is over.  

I would like to thank the few people that actually submitted some useful information (connection, ctd's, etc... )  I suppose I'll just stick around and pay my 15.00 a month and hopefully by next month the next patch will be out! =)

I'm not sure who your DSL is or maybe I'm just confused where my commas go -

1,507,320 bps === does it convert to 1500kbps ?  who knows, I could be wrong.

...I pulled this info from my DSL modem's live diagnostic page.

Just thought you'd like to know Roscoroo.  Maybe consider switching to DirecTV DSL... great service, great price, static IP, and runs like a champ.

dslreports.com - do the speed test, see what it tells you.

Often DSL connects not directly through your local telco but through a middleman are not going to be as great.  Regardless who your provider is it all has to go through the telco in the end.

I don't know why I even bother responding to these types of posts, but obviously not everyone gets it.  If one could think rationally and not emotionally, one would see that this bug is hard to pin down.  We're not all just sitting around laughing at the torment some players are going through.

There is your problem, you are using DirectTV causing lag, I bet you have lost packets too.  I have a friend that tried DirectTV playing games and he had to go back to using telephone line connection as the connection for gaming.

If not try downloading the latest video drivers and us Norton Speed Disk to defrag you harddrive, this cured my problem except for the crash tail first bug.
