What is it you good guys want?
« Reply #15 on: May 03, 2001, 05:45:00 AM »
What we want? Well, I tell you...

We want respect. We have been flying for a long time and have learned to shoot well and do magnificent air combat maneuvers that make our enemies go dizzy. We have flown planes we like even if they are not the best ones available. We have spend atleast hundreds of dollars (some maybe thousands) to become as good as we are. We have fought our way to the top.

Now some kiddies think they should have right to fly every plane (when actually they would fly only one, the best one) just because their mommy pays 30$ per month to HTC.

Not so you arsewipes! This is a real world where you must earn priviledges! If you want to fly everything you are going to work for it! That 30$ gives you a change to be something, it does not buy you respect and certainly no priviledges! You must earn them.

Somebody will always be the weakling, that is just a nature of the law. You dont like being weakling. You would like to hide your incompetence to gray sea of other weaklings, all with same rights and priviledges. You dont like priviledges because you know you haven't earned any because you are so incompetent and your lack of priviledges would expose you to others who could see your real talents.

Complaining about 1C getting perked is truly pathetic. It is like admitting that you need a superplane to be mediocre pilot you really are. You admit that you are a weakling (the guy in your unit that always gets in trouble and need others to help you out) that just cannot survive on level playing field, you need all the help you can get. But worst of all you don't feel a bit ashamed by doing it.

Where is you self respect? Doesn't it mean anything to you? Doesn't it bother you at all when you think that others think you are a weakling, the weakest link?

This is not a shrecking kindergarten! Maybe elsewhere you can hide behind you mothers skirt but not here! If you cannot survive on fair fight you can blame yourself and only yourself! You have to live with knowledge that when you get to tought spot you wont survive it unlike those who has been trough hell and high water with their crappy planes! I guess you can always think you have excuse to do badly because you dont have your extra special plane you somehow earned by doing nothing and retain atleast a bit self respect...

Bunch of studmuffingots.

Just as Toad put it, Errr it's a frikken game chaps. Treat it as such.

By all means have a rant against the self appointed aristocracy, but do remember you only arm those you despise and unless your a champion arselicker or a subscriber to the fan club/cheerleader squad you kinda only have the choices of:
Paying and playing, and being happy with that.
Or keep your A$60 and play something else.

Free choice sometimes isn't such a difficult thing.

I am pretty sure you have respect among the people you began with here. There is no
doubt from my side also that you gained your skills working hard, it took a lot
of time, money and efforts as well.

However, the way you are expressing that will not bring you much respect of
new coming community, this kind offense is a bad teacher - just in case you wanted
to open somebody's eyes on this game, this life and this community of-course.

And what is this game without those newbees (read -- customers) ?

What a load of crap.
No one is telling anyone what to fly. Just what the perk point cost for doing so is.
This is like the first day of someone quitting smoking...man they get squeaky.

well... by no means am i saying I'm a "good" pilot but I have been around sims awhile...

I have and will have enough perks to fly the Chog every sortie forever.   How is me killing newbies in a Chog every sortie good for the game?

How is me flying a Chog every sortie going to give me "respect" LOL... I don't want anyones 'respect' particularly but most of all not by  gaming some idiotic perk system.

Get rid of the idiotic perk system.

I think I've just seen the best example for the use of Valume in my entire life.   Respect? Bah, it's just a game. Shaddup and fly.

And replace it with WHAT?

Separate arenas?  40k mountain ranges separating one arena into 3 arenas?

An RPS?

There are, on average, about 30 guys online each night I fly.  So tell me lazs how your idea of 3 (or more) separate arenas in one map is going to help those of us who do not fly in US primetime?

Or is it only YOUR self-interest that matters?

Jackal,

Although you are complaining about the "Whiney Aces" your post was a little whiney too.

That being said, I understand your post but can just say that there are plenty other planes in AH which are just as good as if not better than the F4U-1C.  La7's (once you get used to the guns) are a beast IMO.  My personal favorite is the Mustang.

To tell the truth tho, I kinda miss all the Chogs in the arena.  They were an easy kill in a mustang.  All these Niks now are a lot tougher to kill.

jekyl.... people go where the numbers are.  By your logic... If there are only thirty people on then there should only be 3 fields or so because haveing 20-30 will mean that there will only be one at every field.  See my point?   With an early war area... people will not go there if there is no one in it.  We will be no worse off.  Or, most will go there that day/hour/sortie.   It will work out.  Some people will of course, allways avoid the "crowd" no matter whatr the numbers.

Actually it would nto be a bad thing at all to include rank in the perking equation.

Just for example:

Pilot ranked 1-99 pays:
0 perks *10 for early war planes
5 perks *10 for early mid planes
10 perks *10 for early late planes

Pilot ranked 100-199 pays:
0 perks *9 for early war planes
5 perks *9 for early mid planes
10 perks *9 for early late planes

Pilot ranked 200-999 pays:
0 perks *8 for early war planes
5 perks *8 for early mid planes
10 perks *8 for early late planes

....

Pilot ranked 900+ pays:
0 perks *1 for early war planes
5 perks *1 for early mid planes
10 perks *1 for early late planes

We might have much more balanced fights...
