at least get a toy pistol that looks realistic, and spray paint it black. if they don't have firearms, they will back off.

Stay away from Hells Angels. It will most likely just get you into even more trouble.
As someone else said, get a fairly heavy leather jacket.
CS spray of one sort or the other is your best option.
Have a couple of sticks handy at home. (50-75 cm length. Baseball bat is too heavy and too easy to avoid, although intimidation factor is good).
A good old fashioned umbrella is also a fantastic weapon.
Get fit. On the streets, by far the best choice is to run.

Getting a gun is a very desperate measure. Just getting caught with it, can ruin your career.

Keep some rocks in your pants at all times.  If worse comes to worse you can take them off and swing the pants around your head to give you some breathing room.  Plus the rocks make a great ranged weapon.

Plus it might give the impression that his package is larger, wich may arouse the drunk squeak and turn a potential fight into a hot sex scene.

Am dismayed to hear about this situation Santa.  You are right to take the threat seriously.

Moving away would be the best option, but you said that would be difficult because of finances.  Carrying a handgun is not a good choice, unless you have some experience with guns...though it may be an expedient solution for your self defense, you'd just about have to carry it in your pocket everywhere you go, and would tend be a hassle in the long run.  Plus, if you kill one of the Somalies using a gun, the others may seek retribution in kind.

I think Weazel's idea of the hose is excellent.  Also, a good stout walking stick or cane would be handy.  But only use one, and practice with it.  The thing to remember is to get something between you and a knife attacker...a garbage can lid for example, hell, even a plastic milk jug lying on the ground would help.  And never let them get close to you, i.e. move back as they move forward.  If you're wearing a coat, you can take it off and use it to ward off the knife.  Carry around a sharp pencil in your shirt pocket...it can be used to great effect if one of the attackers grabs you in a hold.  Pencil targets are the eyes, throat, and heart (though this would likely kill.)  Go to the bookstore or library and pick out a flat, hardback book to carry around...good for putting between the knife and you, and to use the sharp corner of the book in an attacker's throat or eye.

You're probably already in good shape physically because of tennis, scuba diving, running, etc.  I recommend you find a karate dojo, and seriously train.  This will help your SA, along with some self confidence in being able to have some control over a situation where you may come under a surprise attack.  You can  train at home in your room after the karate workout...this will improve your skills, as well as keeping you in a state of preparedness.  The drawback to this is it takes time and hard work, however, the sooner the better.  If you start training in a tough dojo, you wont have the Somalies on your mind so much that you're living in fear.  You'll probably be more concerned about the workout.  The advantage to training in karate or other martial combat arts, is it turns your body into a weapon over time, and you carry that with you everywhere you go.  It's also a weapon no one can take from you and use against you.

Surprise attacks are advantageous when someone is going to, or getting out of the car.  Or when someone leaves or enters the house.  If you live alone, you have somewhat of an advantage in that regard...at least YOU won't be surprised.  Travel in a group of friends, and make sure they are "in the know" and checking your six as well.

I don't blame you for being scared Santa.  It sounds like a miserable place to live.  I can tell you one thing bro, the guys here on this board are all confident you will defend yourself in an intelligent and serious manner, however you chose.

From what I've seen in here too, Somali's are mostly only trouble. They stab people left and right here also, so I understand why santa is worried.

If I was Santa, I'd try to get a restraining order on those mf's so he could call the cops immediately if they break the 100 yards radius for example.

IMO Somali's should be sent back to their wargoing homecountry immediately if and when they show first sign of not adjusting to the society (as with other refugees..)

I don't understand why refugees are allowed to stay in the country even after they steal, stab and rape. Completely insane.

Santa I would also recommend some body armor that covers the upper body torso area. That way if you did get "stuck" you stand a chance of counteracting the blow. Ok, heres the plan... still thinking... I still think the bat and body armor should do it. Now on to planb, what if they pull out a knife (without blitzkrieging you first). They are in front with a knife or knives in hand. You draw a bat. Then one of the bozos draws a gun. Now what, everything is escelated to decon1. If they come to your house again, they sure as hell want something.

Oh FFS.  Will you guys *think* for a second here.

Keeping a gun in the appartment is a stupid idea, it'll be out of reach when needed.  In fact leaving any handy weapons around the home is stupid.  What if Mrs Somali decides to break in while Santa is out.......suddenly the fully fueled chainsaw in a handy to reach place is looking like a much better prospect that the 4" pen knife she's got.  No, forget stashing weapons Santa needs something he can carry all the time, something that isnt gonna get him arrested (so knives and guns are out), something easy to conceal (so a 4x2 is out).....I quite like the garden hose idea someone came up with above.

As for body armour........well full plate armour may be a little OTT, besides anything else you need to be able to run if there's like 6 of em.  The bikers jacket would work but you need to find one with kevlar everywhere and a solid back protector - wont be cheap - and find one not too restrictive.  I still think finding a live roleplaying group and borrowing some home made chain mail is your best bet, it'll stop blade attacks to the torso, isnt so obvious that the attacker will go for another area immediately and will be light enough not to restrict movement too much.  The last thing you want is to step out into the street looking like an 800lb tank, only to get stabbed in the face instead of the gut cos it's the only clear area, go for stealth with the armour.   The armour is only there to prevent the initial attack anyway, once they realise you've taken measures to protect yourself then you've gotta make the decision to fight or flee......all the armour is gonna do is give you the time to make the decision.

However, if you're not at all confident in your ability to defend yourself.........move.   Do it man, it's not worth living in fear for the sake of some maniac Somali potato peeler.  You can get the mail forwarded.

You keep forgetting one thing. It is not just drunk mother and two thugs. It is the tribe.

What if he even gets mother and thugs arrested ? He can never know if they have cousins and nephews just like them. That's how it works with those people.

They have found easy life in Denmark, probably have everything payed for them, and they aren't working either. The message for them should be that they will lose all of it if they don't accept the community rules.

Either deliver them a message they will understand or get out of there.

That sucks Santa.

I too have been in a similiar situation before, although not near as severe.  The worst i expected to recieve was a good hard beating.  But i know the feeling of having to look over my shoulder a little too often. It is a horrible feeling.

Short of moving really far away (you say that this really isnt a viable option right now,) you can only arm yourself legally.

The hose and pepper spray ideas are good, but might wind you up in trouble yourself.  "posession of a weapon with intent to endanger the peace of the public" would be the charge here.  A buddy got charged here with that after he faced about 20 guys with a tire iron. (he never once raised it above his waist.)

My choice of defense is a 3 D cell maglight flashlight.  Tough, heavy (but not too much so) and easy to conceal and carry.  I keep it next to the seat in my car and have even carried it up my sleeve in really rough neighbourhoods here.

Best thing is, there is a large line of these flashlights to suit your needs. They start at the 2 AA model and go up through 4D. They even come in attractive anodized colours! Yay!

Cops cant do anything about them either. Well i guess unless you were swinging it around in broad day-light. I got harrassed by an off duty cop just recentley for having it with me. I just told him "well, as you can see, it is dark and i have trouble seeing in low light conditions."  He immediatley backed off.

Good luck Santa, hope everything works out for the best.
