people seem to like the hose idea. bad idea. if you make the weapon and you end up having to kill one of them (people do die in fights, all they have to do is land wrong when you knock them down) then you go to prison for PREMEDITATED murder. you took time to build a weapon. you planned this.

find weapons you can explain having on you. if your laws are anything like the US, they tend to stop the police from doing anything about real criminals, but come down fairly hard on fed-up people taking care of the problem theirselves.

if you have a car, then bring your tire iron in and out of the car with you.- afraid theives will steal your tools

carry your gym bag with you- a can of soda or large bar of soap in a long sock will take out a couple guys with knifes. especialy if you through a can of spray deoderant in the bag too.

keep oven cleaner or bug spray handy at home.

also mark and check entries into your home. know if someone has broke in before you enter. something as simple as setting a little of the corner of the doormat leaning aginst the door will tell you if the door has been opened while you where away. if they get inside your home and wait for you there you are screwed. they would have plenty of time to dis-able phones, check out wich neibors are home, and find the best place to hurt you for a long long time. if they are looking for information from you a quick stabbing out on the street is the least of your worries.

also vary your routine, get off your schedule. leave a little early. take different routes every day. park in different areas. gget 4 or 5 different routes and places to park at each location you frequent. make it imposable for them to predict what time or place you will be at any moment.

put yourself in their shoes and think things through. step outside yourself and look at yourself as prey. look at what you do, how and when you do it and where would be the best time/place to hit you. then protect yourself. if you can't avoid these week moments then find a weapon you can explain having on hand (if you cant improvise a weapon that will be explained, then buy a weapon. building home made weapons that serve no other purpose is a bad idea. you will do jail time. it makes you look like a psycho. prosicutors will play you off as a nut job who built this weapon and was just looking for an excuse to try it out on somebody)

Thanks for the advice guys.

Right now I got insect spray ready at hand along with a sturdy knife used for slaughtering elks and deers. If the police ask about it, I'm just taking it to my father because I've borrowed it from him.

Have a heavy leather jacket and will use that. Have notified neighbors and (the reliable ones) have agreed to call the cops if they hear any disturbances coming from around my place - whether I am home or not. Took at bit of persuaiding, but they agreed in the end.

My plan is basically to leg it if it comes to that. I have a big window I can get out of and even if one is waiting it is elevated, so I should be able to kick my way out if they're too close. If I meet 'em on the street, I leg it (am a decent runner) to the nearest big road and hail down a car.

Will avoid confrontation to any extent possible, but I am mentally prepared for it.

Worst thing is the paranoid feeling I have. Looking over shoulder all the time, especially when Somalis are around.

This may sound racist but isn't. Somalis in general (statistically speaking) are no good for this country. They've found out they can come here and get money for doing nothing and they know they won't be deported for crime as long as it isn't murder. Even then they have to go through the courts for a deportation order. Unemployment amongst Somalis in Denmark is 90% - only group that has more are Palestinians at 92%. I've heard some laugh over the foolishness of Danes - 'stupid people who work all day and then we can just chill out and collect more than they earn through various schemes and manipulations with the welfare system'. Stuff like that. It's sad.

Of course it's racist, but who cares? If it's true, it's true. We have the same elements in America, but they don't just come from Somalia. If I'm racist to believe we'd be better off closing our doors, so be it.

Yes, we won't be safe until everyone has firearms. If everyone had a pistol, then there would be no more victims, we would be safer and it would make peace officers jobs easier.

You're right, of course. It is much better that St.Santa is afraid to walk down the street for fear of getting murdered by people that have absolutely no interest in meshing with their foster country's customs. Yes, by all means, let everyone in, let them sponge from the working class, and let the law protect them more than it does its own native citizens. It's the only humane thing to do.

Better still, disarm the native populace in the interests of being civilized. No way anyone is going to need to protect themselves in such a progressive society, right? I mean, stats don't lie...

Lock your door, try to be around friends when you are outside and take it easy. Threats are threats. Do not arm yourself. Its very hard to actually kill or hurt someone. Draw a knife without experience, and you are gonna get cut. Run and you are ok. You are gonna be fine. Every day someone is threatehened by those morons, seldom a normal guy is hurt.

true it's not like the movies where ya shot the bad guy once and he drops like a rock. yer gonna have to drill that son of a gun til he drops, how many times depends on the caliber

and never ever answer questions immediately after an incident until you have had a good night sleep or a substantial amount of time has passed to calm down and you've had time to think of the events clearly. otherwise you may be taken advantage of during questioning and say or agree to things you not want to.

remember you didn't shoot to kill the assailant you shot him to prevent him from harming you or others

of course you may find yourself calming down in a cell with someone named bubba but atleast you get to rest abit
