Then at 11.00pm last night she decides that the TV show coming on was more important than her promise of sexual activity. She claims that it is a woman's right to change her mind.
Last night our cable tv cut out 5 minutes into "American Idol" - we watched just long enough to get sucked into the vid bits of the auditions. My wife started speed-dialing the cable operator's repair line. I sorted out my mail, filed Buccaneer souvenir shopping receipts, tossed out credit card offers, and then read a magazine.
After her initial trauma wore off, I suggested we watch one of our DVDs. I pitched "Saving Private Ryan", "U-571", and "Matrix". She wanted "Stealing Home" and "Beaches". We compromised and watched 30 minutes or so of "Steel Magnolias" and then she checked the cable again and it was back on. By then all we got was the "Where are they now" segment on American Idol.
Television isn't addicting. She can quit anytime she wants!
