You miss the point Slow!  If you don't hold that view, then it is truly too bad that you posted how you posted.  You didn't disclaim or even discuss the idea.  You gave no indication that you did not agree with it.  Your post made it a declarative statement, implying there was some possible validity to it.  Nothing idiotic about that and certainly was not an assumption, rather an observation based on objective fact.

As for moving you elsewhere, I know full well that Skuzzy is the only one that can, but, like your wistful wish for a French socialist utopia, I too can dream!

you get your info from your alphabet soup news station and ACTUALLY think you now whats going on......hence the ill informed

your POV's are based solely on reports coming from AMERICANS.....

your discussing INTERNATIONAL affairs and your giving me YOUR AMERICAN POV's.....which is pretty much all the same....you watch all the same news stations...lol

then you call me retarded.....

Syzygyone

you do remember 9/11 right.....

do you remember seeing on 1 of your news stations people actually being joyous.....

for your information...just in case you didn't get it.....after 2 tries...here goes.

MOST ARABS SAY YOU DESERVED 9/11.....

now just in case you jump the gun again....saying something stupid like 'SLO your a moron....blablablabla'

actually go find that info about arabs....and what they think about 9/11....your gonna come to the same conclusion as me.....

like I said...'IT DEPENDS ON WHICH SIDE OF THE FENCE YOU SIT ON'....

eventually you guys are gonna understand INTERNATIONAL politics....not just your simple minded AMERICAN politics....

and BTW...I'm trying to make you understand a DIFFERENT POV then your own.....now where in here did I post my own POV's...none....think of it as playing DEVILS ADVOCATE.....you guys are really having a hard time accepting diff. views then your own.....hence the self-centered

but I forgot....If it doesn't fit in your american style view.....its retarded....hence the arrogance

International politics we don't understand?  That is a personal observation....nothing more.  We know nothing of Politics?  Oh....ok then...what country led the Egytian Israeli Peace intiative?  The rest of the Arab world went nuts when Egypt and Israel signed a peace accord.  If you don't know who led the talks I suggest you read a bit about History.

Alas.........seems History Books are almost non existant or little read.  Lot's of people making off the cuff comments with little background information.

True....I'll grant you the US has made mistakes.  Hell....the US ain't perfect by a long shot.  By the way History also will tell you it was the UK and the US that formed the joint coalition to Liberate Kuwait........you think keeping Israel out of the conflict wasn't a political plus,  Getting Saudi Arabia.......and yes even Syria to join  in the Liberation of Kuwait.......and keeping Israel from defending itself as Scuds crashed into their soil wasn't a political chore and a great political undertaking by the US?

Go to the Library......get a History Book........read.  The political successes of the US have been many....and yes the US does make mistakes, but get your facts straight and have some knowledge before making personal assumptions that are false.

Some would say, they would love for you to make this statement to their face. Some would say you would not walk away in one piece.

Some would volunteer to be part of this group.

Some would say you are right about American Foregin Policy. Some would say Canadian expertise in this area has made it the world economic power it is today.

Why don't you figure out which groups of "Some" I fall into, Slo.

No Ad Hominum From Me
« Reply #68 on: April 17, 2003, 08:54:42 AM »
Slo-

You mistakenly  suggest that I've called you a moron or have otherwise resorted to ad hominum attacks on you.  Nah, that's a waste of electroncs, much the same as your anti-American diatribe.  I have no desire, and certainly no need, to attack you personnally.  The flaws in the logic behind your statements are so gaping as to invite easy reproach.  I don't condone others who attack you, but then again, that's their right.  I am more interested in educated discourse.

As for bringing facts and arguements, my beef with you is that you spew propoganda as fact.  Yea, we know some people liked what they saw on Septemebr 11, 2001.  Those people are terrorists or terrorist sympathizers and supporters.  We know who the enemy is.  America and her true allies will hunt them down and destroy them.

Now, under the guise of playing Devil's Advocate, you have the brazen audacity to attempt to take the moral high ground by warning us that some people in the world don't like us.  Guess what?  We already knew that.  Geez!

You imply that only 300 million Americans like America and the rest of the 5 billion people in the world hate America.  Well, sir, that's just plain wrong and you know it and there is no purpose to your devil's advocacy.  We know we are not pefect, but we also know that America is a lot better than any other nation.  Elsewise, why would so many keep immigrating here?  Elsewise, why do we have thehighest standard of living ever known to man?  Elsewise, why do we feed most of the world?  etc., etc., etc!

No Slo, you are just another French apologizer, trying desperately to restore what was once a proud heritage.  Give it up.  It aint' going to happen, no matter how much Chirac, and DeVillipan wish it to be.   France had her chance to stand with the leaders of the free world and declare that terrorism will not be tolerated.  Instead, for truly dispicable ulterior motives of protecting their illegal contracts and under the table support of Iraq, they stood by, wringing their hands saying France knows the way and the way is containment and appeasement.  Of all people who should read AND LEARN FROM history, Chirac is at the front of the line.

Go!  Play devil's advocate to Chirac and Shroeder and Chretian and Putin.  They, not America, need a good dose of reality.

I understood you, Siaf.

Perspnally, I would have chosen the Tahoe, but Chevy is the way to go, no matter the model.

It was simply implying, quite sarcastically, the ramifications if everyone in Angola DID NOT follow your lead.

It was just a lame attempt at some humor on a dreary day.

Nothing personal, just a crack.

Most arabs don't think that Martlet, or anybody, deserved 9/11 . Most arabs are not genocidal fanatics, which is what one would have to be to rationalize a murder of that scale. And I think "most arabs" might be insulted by your generalization.

In fact most of them, (80% in Egypt), believe that the 9/11 attack was perpetrated by "the jews".

Actually we don't, we pretty far down the list in this category, that's one of the problems of being the third most populated country in the world. I believe Denmark is still #1 in this category .
