Meddog,
I agree it's not fun getting pushed into a corner. Seems like that's been happening to us a lot lately and it's frustrating, but such is life. Strat targets do make sense to those who like the strat part of the game.
However, I understand the other points that are being made. Leviathn & I were furballing at an airfield recently from a CV, and one guy kept hounding us to take out the fighter hangers. We wanted to furball, not do ground attack. The other guy stated several times he would kill the FH's to 'force them' (those of us wanting to furball) into attacking the city. Eventually, he suceeded in destroying the hangars, but because he was trying to force his will on us, there was no way in hell I was going to do what he asked. I know your intent is not to force anybody into anything (which is the way Grim runs the USMC), but to make a recommendation.
I wonder if there is a way to combine the fun of furballing with the strat side. It seems like when we attack strat targets, the other country usually responds by upping fighters. If this attack is kept up, usually a furball is created. Once a furball is created, strat guys could call out it's location. Any furballers interested (stress on the word interested) in joining the fight could keep the pressure on the fighters while strat guys continue to take out strat targets. In theory (and I do mean theory), everybody gets an opportunity to do what they like doing in a way that benefits both types of players. I'm sure this is just a dream, but it's fun to think about what could be.
