Like you each $ (actually € for me ;))  I can put in my pocket is where it should be ...

But I still prefer not having to give 1st to have it back some month later.
During those month I should have made at least some 3% (tax free) with this money when the governement give nothing in return

Believe me, there's nothing I agree with more. I do not enjoy giving the government 31% of my income, and then some.

But there's the old saying about Death and taxes.

If I'm not mistaken, there was no income tax in the United States until the very early 1900's.

Well, 31% is my federal tax bracket.

Then you have to add in the State of New York, who gets 12%.

And if you live in New York city, there's the 7% (I think) there.

I live on Long Island, so we don't pay city tax...we pay Property tax. About $2000 a year.

Nice, huh?

straffo the whole thing is being misrepresented. the govt is in debt and they are cutting taxes to use the same reagan voodoo economics the rich favor so much. they throw the 97 percent of our population that are wage slaves a few hundred bucks and give the rich multi thousand dollar cuts to make it fair.
it guts the economy every time. sigh watch the economy skyrocket.

the real story is the conservative party believes their is to much tax and would if it was 1% like catholics like the pope and nazis like racial homlands consevatives like tax cuts ( biased to the rich to make it equal ) " said with sarcastic voice" just how it is and always has been. greedy rich men.

better than nothing but less than half of what Bush wanted ...

so when it doesn't stimulate the economy as much as they'd like, ya think the dumbacrats will stand there and point fingers . don't see how they can being less than half ....

Just remember that it was Republicans, not Democrats, who forced the Bush administration to compromise to less than half the figure.  Karl Rove chewed out Senate Majority Leader Frist for allowing moderate Republicans to stray from the president's plan, but ultimately the moderate Republicans forced Bush to decide between half the tax cut or no tax cut at all.

And so goes Congress.

I fail to see of a tax return would stimulate anything other than one month in the year and make an artificial "burp" on the curves.

I don't know how your fiscal year is made but isn't this return made to appear when there is some deadline ?

Perhaps we should look at cutting the snail darter before police and firefighters.  Wouldn't that be wiser.  There are 40 years of worthless programs the Dems have put in place!

Ya, know, you can still turn around and write a check to the government if you feel you aren't paying your fair share.  You should be writing a check today for $400.00 for each child you have in order to keep the police and firefighters on the job.  You shouldn't ask others to pay before you "do the right thing"!!

The deficit will disappear when the American economy kicks into high gear.  The increase in revenues will pay it back only if Congress holds the line on spending and doesn't spend $2.00 for every $1.00 increase in revenues like they did in the '80's!

im sorry i didnt realize america was such an awesome place for the working class in the 19th century and not just the rich few. tax cuts do nothing for the economy and im glad the city of portland is putting its children first and will be chargeing me an extra 300 bucks a month so they are able to keep its schools open. Im really proud that it was put to a vote and close to 60 percent of those voted thought it was a good idea as well.

remember when they cut taxs before they destroy the pork programs like the star wars program, the schools and civil service jobs are hurt first.  btw one of the richest men in america will now only have 3 percent of his income taxed while his secritary will continue to have close to 30 percent of hers taxed.
what is he going to do with 310million extra but put it in the bank. what if she had thousands back, she would use it to pay off loans or buy a second car, that would stimulate an econmy.

if you like getting pissed on by the rich continue to support these tax cuts fools. you get a couple hundred back they get millions just to put in the bank or their kids trust funds(like mine wohoo)

Police and fire are not paid for by federal money...

yes.. I would love to see the money that the feds spend on snail darter habitats and EPA studies that are voodoo science.

The military is paid for by the federal government (our tax money) but it is allways the first thing to get cut.

The feds are like greedy children... the more you give them the more they waste.  It is about time that they get some of their allowance cut.

i agree that the feds have more cash then they know what to do wityh, but they are cutting the wrong peoples taxs. when you guys get excited over a few hundred bucks it reminds me of dogs getting excited over a few scraps while the guys making 200k+ are sitting at the table eating the lobster and veal of tax cuts. and even though federal tax cuts do not pay for police and schools directly they do subsidise the states. states that rely on federal cash are going broke. you cant rob peter to pay paul.

the states do not pay for fire and police.

Like I said in another thread... if you want to get rid of all this guilt then just check the box on your tax form that says you want to contribute more and give back all the money that your greedy daddy gave you.
