Jordi should come up and put it together in our nations capitol.   They will be opening the new Air and Space Museum at Dulles by then.  some other reasons...

1.  Great transportation
2.  Three airports withing 40 miles
3.   its nice here.

oh yeah, and it would be very convienent for me.  Besides, you could check out the memorials too.  The new wwii veterans memorial should be ready by then as well (right between the korean and vietnam memorial s on the mall).

That's not a bad idea.  Not bad at all.

Then again, Charleston SC has the USS Yorktown with its air museum, the SS Clamagore WW2 submarine, the DD Laffey destroyer, a Coast Guard Cutter, a Vietnam support base (replica) with helicopters and a PT boat.  There's also Ft. Sumter and the CSS Hunley.

And buxom Southern debutante college girls from the College of Charleston walking around in their Summer clothes.

The 98 AW CON was in San Fran and we visited a WWII Carrier - it was neat.

The 2002 AW CON was supposed to be in SC in Charleston - but with the demise of AW it never took place.

Hmmm...Houston ain't bad.  Has NASA, hub for several airlines, lots to eat/drink/dance/whatever (lots of real sheep), Lone Star Flight Museum, what may be the best airshow in the nation (when it don't get rained out).
Downside-heat (we have one day of winter when it gets below 60-heat and humidity) and humidity-you swim to your car after wrork.  INS has a strong pres..pere..there a lot of 'em down here so some individuals (ya know like Chief, Coach, Egger)Might not be allowed in ;>

How about an alternative with better weather?

The Secretary of the Navy has announced that the USS Midway will be donated to the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum. Expected to arrive in October 2003 in time for Fleet Week, to be moored at Navy Pier in the Embarcadero, with the grand opening tentatively scheduled for late spring of 2004.

How about the Museum of Flight in Seattle. The new fighter wing opens on June 6, 2004. This collection is the old Champlin one from Mesa, but the planes will be surrounded by a pilot's lounge, a carrier deck and a WWI trench with two planes dogfighting overhead. The new exhibits will be outstanding and there will be two additional "full motion" simulators in addition to the two already in operation. Ripsnort has flown these, so he can give you his evaluation. The simulators can be set up to dogfight each other also. There are plenty of facilities for a convention right at the museum, so it would be a good place to hold it.

 It makes to much sense akak San diego is to perfect for con. I would in heart beat & could bring wife and the kids, Let wife and kids go to san diego wild animal park. Or 500 other family things to do. weather is always nice. and as for ww2 birds at least 10 still flying warbirds r at international airport in hangers. I'm sure we could get into them. Also If I remember right the new dogfighter company is opening a san diego office this year.

The San Diego Aerospace Museum and the local CAF unit both have hangers at Gillespie Field in the East County that they use to store some of their flyable planes.  The CAF museum also has a recently rebuilt P-82.  Both hangers are open to the public 7 days a week.  There's also an air-combat company at Palomar airport.
