I can guarantee you that its more boring to be dead in 2 mins... Dont expect this to turn into an furball directly after the merge...

I don't expect it to be Flight Simulator either.  If everyone flies on past at the merge and continues to do so in order to gain an energy advantage merge after merge after merge, the "fight" becomes a farce.

Plus in my experience, this tactic alone rarely works.  Some players conserving energy while others attack aggressively tends to work just as well if not better.

Well its always nice to see how the enemy reacts first.. If 4 go hi left and 4 go hi right you have an good chance of splitting up the enemy force... Then come slamming down on em...

Rarely works... ya it all depends on what your opponent does...

But if you guys are planning on djust doing an "wild merge" keep an eye on your wingman aproach you are gonna be dead... for sure...

The ones with the biggest experiance from squad duels will surely win... Not the ones with the "uber sticks"

steve..  i am going by what I see.   pee51's won't be the only plane in the game unless daddy has the choice.   pee 51's bore me witless.   I guess even I could gather up comments that made me sound good even tho I am mediocre like you.

ALL READ THIS:

We need a Captain ASAP.

Nash and Frenchy are the only ones to mention it so far, could you guys please get together and decide which one of you will be acting as Captain and email me ASAP:  raf1swoop@yahoo.co.uk

Gotta get the AH Captain talking to the WB Captain and hash out the planeset details.  THEN the Captain will need to pick his side from those who've signed up in this thread.

I think what Laz is getting at is that if we want to WIN then those pilots who have the highest level of ability should be picked over lower performing ones.  However, if we don't really want to win and just wanna have fun then I recommend going in order of sign up.  The Team Captain may of course request from the WB crowd that we field different pilots in every frame so that everyone gets a go.......you never know they might agree.  But it's entirely up to either Nash or Frenchy, as soon as they decide who's leading :).

Bottom line:  I need a team captain elected today and talking on the email list with me and Daddy at WB to get things final.

THEN you need some 8vs8 practise, wouldnt be hard to set up an extra "training" team from the looks of the interest here.....

Could be an good way of deciding who gets to be in too... Set up 2 teams and duke it out as many times as you can...

You might win even if you just pick names out of a hat.... there aren't that many good sticks left in WB... if they were any good they would allready be here but... why not get a few that know how to fight?   Why not a couple that feel the first step in killing the bad guy is getting below him and having him get on your six instead of picking guys who are doing the calculations on energy whild runn.. er... "extending" away?

Cause thats not how you fight in more than 1 vs 1 Duels.  Your bound to lose with the frame of mind.

you think?  seems drex wins every 2 vs 2 duel ever had at the cons and he doesn't do a lot of "extending".

Just my .02 worth......

As to tactics, it's a non-issue.....select the correct pilots and tactics are a given. The older experienced pilots have done this type of gig many times before....it's not a big thing. Pilot selection is what it's about.

My choice would be the following....

Drex
Levi
WT
Shane
Urchin
Fester

Any number of other vets can fill out the group....I know of many here who can handle this kind of fight. This core group of vets listed above will handle any tactic thrown at them as well as kill quickly, which imho, is the key in this type of dance.

Drex should lead everyone out....he has the most experience with this kind of fight(sorry Scott):)

Rgr Swoop. Frenchy volunteered for captain first, but he said in the same post that it depended on if he had the time to do it. My volunteering for captain was in case he decided he didn't. But... we still haven't heard from him. If he can do it, then the job is his.

Frenchy - have you made up your mind?

(sending this to you in email also Swoop as requested)

I dont think i know, maybe you should ask Rude what the tactic in Squad vs Squad duels was, i was in there, and each and every fight we had we would extend and grab alt, while the opposing squad would start turning at the merge, and would eventually lose.
