What, you think I'm trying to convince a judge here?  I'm just meeting the level of discourse on this board.

Quote
In its court papers, Fox described the author and liberal commentator as "neither a journalist nor a television news personality. He is not a well-respected voice in American politics; rather, he appears to be shrill and unstable. His views lack any serious depth or insight."

Fox alleged that Franken was "either intoxicated or deranged" when he attacked the network and conservative host Bill O'Reilly at an April press correspondents dinner. The lawsuit also says that Franken has been described as "increasingly unfunny."

...

The court papers refer to Mr. Franken, who is a former "Saturday Night Live" writer and performer, as a "parasite" who hopes to use Fox's reputation to confuse the public and boost sales of his book.

Well, actually I said you were an idiot because of the way you put forth your argument.  I don't think I actually discussed the health care issue with you.  And I already enjoyed the book...but like with Michael Moore, I don't agree with most of his political views.

Was it Dan Ackroid and Eddie Murphy who were in "Trading Places", funniest movie I've ever seen.  Anyway, wasn't it Al Frankin and some other actor who teased the gorrillas in the cage, when the hit man dude ended up there during the train scene?:D

Yes, it was Al Franken and his comedy partner Tom Davis. They were part of the SNL alum that had parts in that film.

Al Franken was initially a Republican, following in his father's footsteps.
Al Franken graduated from Harvard in 1973.

Al Franken co-wrote and produced Touchstone Pictures' "When a Man Loves a Woman," with Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan which drew strong reviews and over $100 million boxoffice.

Al Franken is the author of four NY Times best-sellers.

a bunch of raging right-wing lunatics they are.  That their lawyers resorted to O'Club-Repugnantcan-style personal attacks and name-calling...

So let me get this straight...  They are wrong because they resort to name calling....

okay I think I get it now.

just an aside  Erlkonig...
I certainly hope your new avatar is not a picture of you.

What you just posted about the economy is innacurate. You may hope for it to tank to keep Bush out of office and if that's true, then just say so rather than showing your arse to everyone on the BBS.

So if a network sends a comedian to a political event to add a touch of witt it qualifies them as being qualified politically?

Didn't Hillary win one for a book on tape?  It Takes a Village if I remember correctly.

And although not a political figure, Homer Simpson won one for Barbershop Performance.

I think they award about 23,436 Grammies annually.
