I saw thw same thing on CNN, but they were just solid red flags or red flags with Arabic writing on it. The hammer and sling blade were not in sight. In that part of the world does a red flag have any traditional meaning? I suppose it could have something to do with blood.

I did first note they were red flags and figured those are just plain red flags.... but then I began wondering why would they use red flags and where'd they got those; so I searched for the hammer and sling blade, which were visible after all, albeit quite faint, surely not in the bright yellow tone like supposed to.
Then someone was having flag between two sticks and some arabic writing on it

I havent seen the footage, but the communistsparty in Iraq was banned by Saddam and they are now very happy he is gone. Could it be the Iraqi communists party flags?

LOL Cabby, the one thing ALL of us agree on is we want to see hostilities end in Iraq ASAP. Capturing Sadaam is a step in that direction, whether we're left, right or center.
