Yeah, it's arrogance. Yeah, it's an attack. You should try to be a bit more intellectually honest, or honest with yourself. Look at what you wrote.

What thunderdome concept of air combat? Did Douhet, or Dolittle, or Arnold, or anybody else ever write that air combat is a one-dimensional battle? Which one? What book? Why is 'thunderdome" all that matters? Just because it gets your heart started?

Let me put one to you:

Altitude 18000 ft, speed 210. Three cells of bombers are on the final approach to a defended base. Fighters are up, making badly coordinated runs trying to shoot you down. You're in the bombsight, trying to line up on the small pad fighter hangars. The guns are hammering, the number 2 plane is burning, a dora is coming up fast from below, and the crosshairs touch the target. Bombs away! Jump into the #2 position, start hammering away at the dora. One drone goes down, just as the message comes up in the buffer:

Fighter hangar destroyed
Fighter hangar destroyed.

There is a feeling of elation, of having made it through the gauntlet, and a sense of accomplishment in hitting the target. Pulse rate elevated, breathing fast.

Why can't you understand that? I can understand and experience the sweaty palms and whatever of a good dogfight.

Personally, I think the reason is that you have a short attention span.

I used the term "newb" once in this thread, referring to the guy who tried to up from a field that had ~10 greens CAPing it. My one use of that term was not derogatory in nature, merely observant. I think you need to calm down and not take things so personally, at least get it right who is saying what where.

Will having a low rank get me laid tonight?

Will arguing over who is right and who is wong about a game and winning that argument, get me laid tonight?

Actually, yes, if it makes me feel like mission accomplished and I log off early enough to be in the "zone"

No, I have never won an argument about anything and gotten any in the same 24 hour period.

Take a big breath and read my posts again. Where did I say anything you mention in your post?
I have no prob escorting buffs or helping with anything. As long as there is a goal. Droping the FH just because you happen to fly over them with ord and then auger is plain stupid. Why not the BH, VH or the town? Cause no one will complain about that

Dunno, but it seems to me that you guys are the ones who are so sensitive to any implied slight. After all, you're the ones who object to a little dig about your stated position on the issue at hand. Do I need to go fishing to find your past posts on the subject, eddie, and find some juicy quotes where you used any and all of the derogatory terms listed in my previous post? It would be a monumental task, there are so many. But a waste of time, we both know where you're coming from on this issue.
