Yes the JG2 banner is sharp.  Of course I am partiall to the JG11 one myself, but ya, the "R" gruppe shield for the unit has always been one of my fav. LW insignias.

Agreed, going to be alot of fun, and one to remember.

Am I imagining things, or is the background of the banner the same color as that unit's reich defense tail bands?

You are not imagining it Krusty.  Indeed the background of the Axis banners are the correct color or combination of color used respectively by that Gruppe as role identifying fuse bands.  An example of the thought and detail going into this scenario. :aok
