Arena Caps

why is there more players in an arean then the cap allows, I just tried to log in and the CAP was 200 yet 291 in the arena. Shouldnt the Caps be higher than the amout of players in it?

search is your friend! As the cap drops in the blue arena, the cap limit in org will drop, but it doesn't kick people out so you get big number differances like when the war is won in blue.

I didnt kick me out, just seems like good logic to keep the max even with the amout of players in the arena. I know most answers will be insults and other types of answer, thats all you ever read in here. But thane you for your responce, 1 question. When in the org. cap wil be oh say 350 and over 360 in it, yet bleu will have a cap of 450 and only a little over 200 in it.
Plwase no arguments, just wondering why that is.

If you program it the way that cap would always be greater then number of players currently in arena, there would be no cap at all. It would be rendered useless.


Caps are kinda leapfrogging to distribute players roughly evenly between the arenas. Once any LW arena reaches 70% of it's current capacity, the other arena cap will go up.

Of course, If you had read the HELP section, you would have already known that.

You tried to log in shortly after Noon, Central time.  There are no caps before noon.  When the caps kick in, they are based on the arena with the lower numbers.  It usually takes an hour or two for them to even out and stabilize.  Caps end at Midnight central time as well.

Go to the icky, other arena.

i have often wondered why the cap drops to 100 when the other day we had 368 on one and 250 on another. then both late war caps dropped to 100-150. always in teh eavning for me aswell so i got to wait till i can get on. in the uk its about 7pm sometimes befor i can get on to a good arena with alot of ppl on and also ppl i recognise and like to fly with. even if they dont know me lol.

why not just keep the cap raised to 400 and leave it? or even 350. like with first person shooters. my old servers where 26 man maps. always.

just a thought

YES!!! i have been waiting for a thread about cap's!!  :rock (and on a side note) How can someone who has been registered seance 2004 not understand cap's?

Raise the cap to 400 and you would have one LW arena with 402 and the other with 50.  That make you happy? 

Both LW arenas will never be both maxed.  If necessary, there will be 3 LW arenas.

GO TO THE OTHER LW ARENA.

Simple.

Well i feel the urge to rant my .02 for the cause:

After a year i still hate the caps, despite of all the reasoning of various players and staff of HTC, i still haven't changed my mind.
It blows to log in and see 311/100 on Orange, and 60/200 on Blue.
This happened to me last night, again.

So, i went in Blue and found out friends were at Orange.
They told me they were having a blast, good fights going on etc.
so instead of staying there, they chose to come to Blue.

And for what?
Just to keep me company, i felt really bad they left the good fights for that...

get on before 6pm GMT you wont have a problem,

 :rofl at Grizz,  next time just find the dead horse pic it's quicker  ;).

The caps usually sort themselves out after an hour or two,  sometimes if you get lucky, go into blue if it hits the threshold around (105-10/150) it will push the cap back to 200 in orange jump out quick and see.

Personally I don't see the caps as a problem,  it is an issue but not a problem.  Would you rather be arguing about not having enough players to sustain a games existence?   don't take it for granted just be happy,   It is around 1pm EST that it kicks in and lets face it most of you should be at work.  Go to the DA for an hour two and have some 1 vs 1's to improve your flying.
