Speed Racer.  Loved the show as a kid but the movie was astoundingly bad.  My brother and I watched most of it, awestruck at just how terrible it was.  Some movies are so bad, they are actually good.  This went completely past that point.  The flashing lights even gave me a migraine.  :bhead

I implied no such thing.  I stated that I did indeed watch these movies.  You also mistakenly assumed that I watched them repeatedly.  I watched each one exactly once.  I wasn't sure I would dislike them until I watched them because I prefer to make informed judgments, a practice with which you may be unfamiliar.

You are further mistaken in your assumption that I am self-hating, and I really don't care what you think of my choices of how I spend my own time.

Napoleon Dynamite is a movie that is unique in my world.  The wife and I watched it one night, were left going more or less 'WTF?  That wasn't very good.'  The next day, we both found stuff about it that was funny in hindsight.  It's the only movie I've ever found funnier the day after than at the time.  Not to say that it was good by any stretch, just that there was the occasional amusing part.

3:10 to Yuma...  Can someone please explain to me what the heck was motivating a career criminal to risk his life and freedom to teach the son of a guy he didn't even know a lesson?  To me it wasn't a terrible movie, most of it made sense to me and was decent, but Russell Crowe's actions made absolutely no freaking sense to me.

I liked napoleon dynamite, quirky stuff. made me want to learn Rex-Kwan-Do.


the worst ive seen at the movies was for a date, I'm pretty sure it was called Bridget Jones - just shoot me before the titles have finished rolling.

Probably the movie I've hated more than ANYTHING else I've ever seen was the Ray Winstone/Angelina Jolie Beowulf. When the guys making the movie said they didn't like the original poem so decided to do their own thing, that right there is PROBABLY A SIGN TO STOP MAKING IT. They completely missed EVERY point about what the poem REALLY meant.

I agree that Beowulf was infuriating -- to me, though, mostly because they had awesome acting talent in it and awesome writing talent (Neil Gaiman and Roger Avery) but did it as Polar Express-style crapanimation.  Arg.  What a waste of talent.
