I have always wondered why fonda was singled out.

semp

Did you look at the picture? She’s sitting on an active AAA gun used to shoot down U.S. military aircraft wearing an NVA issued helmet. She’s not protesting, she’s providing aid and comfort to the enemy aka treason.

Yeah, it's so strange semp. I mean, just because she actually flew to North Vietnam for a photo op and sympathy session with the Vietcong. A big American star that had influence was in Vietnam consoling the enemy.

You know. Traveling around with the enemy saying anti-American things that were broadcast as propaganda by the enemy

So it really is baffling why she was singled out.

.

you mean she went alone? who else was there?.

well she didn't go with the thousands of American protesters that you asked your teacher about. He must have been a bright guy too because he told you she was one of thousands - just more famous

she went with her no-name husband.

I have always wondered why fonda was singled out.  there were thousands of people protesting, burning American flags, draft dodgers, people spitting on returning servicemen, throwing crap at them.

in high school I asked my history teacher, a vet that lost part of a foot what he thought about her.  he just said she was one of many but she was famous.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

No one else that attracted (or could) that much publicity.

Are you implying she was put up to doing it by someone or group?  :noid

She went with her dirtbag husband.

Semp is baffled why she is singled out when thousands of Americans protested at home and did the same thing she did by going to Vietnam and meeting with the enemy.

no,  I'm baffled by the fake outrage of some here. she was used as propaganda on the west, in Vietnam they were showing videos of protests at colleges and universities chanting for uncle ho. those videos boosted morale more than Jane fonda did.

the irony is if she had avoided the draft, insulted a pow vet and a gold star family, you would have given her a pass.

Just to be clear. Semp thinks that going to meet the enemy for publicity and support of the enemy in time of war is no different than protesting at home.

The syndrome has arrived...all goes orange these days...

Back to topic...

The Vietnam war should never have happened

The Vietnamese should have been given their freedom from the French when they fought against the Japanese during WW2 as promised..but way too many military complex $$$ to ignore there...just like the latest few "wars"

Waiting for the staged event to inspire some sort of temporary national patriotism involving Ukraine to pull us in nice and deep and $$$$$$ for many into that mess...
