You see but unlike you guys I have personal living experience in a communist country, and you cant really compare it to democracatic countries. The people may be friendly and outwardly happy but unless you lived it yourself its very hard to understand the sort of pressures they are under and the forces working on them. They are just not free, despite all the care and education they have.
Look at it this way. I'm sure many of you guys here defending Cuba are also against the Bush policies on terror war - thats a fair statement I think. Why are you against him? I mean the USA is wealthy, it has lots of food lots of happy people - why complain? maybe some of you complain because of patriot act restrictions, maybe some compain about bush secrecy, or about iraq.
Well imagine how you (yourself personally) would complain, if you could, against the castro restrictions. Of course they largely cant speak out because itsa one part dictaorship with limited speech rights. So how much value do you place on (poor quality communist - my experience) health care then? Imagine if there were punsihments for speaking out, would you risk your family?
With the governemt controling the economy, health and education its very easy for them to take it away from troublemakers - and that stuff happends a lot. Or the reverse happends, officials favor their friends for the best care to the detriment of the average guy.
