bars are bad places..  people shouldn't have guns in bars except the employees or designated drivers.

It didn't look like he was trying to kill the guy.

To the original post.. can't say whether or not I would've jumped in. I'm 5'11" 150 lbs. I'm a skinny whiteboy. I can't fight. I haven't fought since elementary school. My CHL is more useful to get me out of tickets because I only carry when I'm the DD or I've got something important with me. I'm not even a particularly great shot. I haven't practiced stress shooting in 6 months.

I'm pretty much with Santa on this one.

1) My ESP has been faulty lately, I dunno who else is going to jump in to help.

2) I have absolutely no chance whatsoever of being able to take this beast on. I'd have to jump on his back & choke him out like it was the WWF and pray he didn't just smash me into a wall to shake me.

3) If I did pull out my gun and open fire.. assuming I hit him, I'm going to get sued. I'll probably lose.

4) If I did pull out my gun and open fire.. what if I missed or the bullet goes throw and starts ricochet roulette? I'd be shooting at somebody, in the middle of a fight, in a crowded restaraunt.

5) What if something goes wrong? They have more friends outside? One of those friends has a gun? What if the crazy chick blindsides me cuz I lost her for a second in the surging, panicking crowd that's crapping it's pants because I've got a gun out? Now my own gun is loose in a jam packed room with violent people that are not afraid to randomly maim somebody.

I'm not afraid of danger. I've bungee jumped. I've throw myself out of perfectly good airplanes. I've been shot at. I've run for mylife. Unfortunately that's a very bad situation that was started, and the smart thing to do is not get involved.

Too bad the right thing & the smart thing never seem to coincide nowadays
