"Music that seemed to come from somewhere in the raucous audience that packed the Jorgensen Center at the University of Connecticut Wednesday night brought Ann Coulter's speech to an abrupt end about 15 minutes after she started.

After waiting with her bodyguard on stage for several minutes for the music to stop while a section of the audience chanted "You suck, you suck," an irritated Coulter said she would not finish her speech. She said she would go straight to questions and answers, suggesting the disruption was the best the liberals could do to counter her."

Drowning out the opposing opinion seems to be the popular thing nowadays. I blame the political talk shows, where it is mandatory that no one gets the opportunity to finish a complete sentence without being yelled at or talked over.

People payed money to get in just so they could keep her from talking and delivering a speach the university itself payed her to give?

Like her or not. Thats not exactly being open to hear a different view which was the entire reason the university asked her to come there

IMO the sudents involved should have some severe diciplinary action taken against them.
and just for the record I'd feel the same way if it were done to M Moore.

First off, I'm probably more Conservative than Liberal but I'm fairly close to center with mixed opinions and ideals.

Coulter is rude, obnoxious, arrogant, and full of nothing but hatred of anything that she views is an opposing opinion.

However, going to hear her speak, paying money to get in, not listening to what she has to say, and preventing her from speaking at all is exactly what is wrong with the newest generation and politics today. Their whole display is akin to putting your hands over your ears and yelling like a 5 year old.

Again, BOTH polar opposites need to grow up and start remembering we are all Americans, before it is too late. Sadly, part of me wishes for another disaster to hit our shores to give us another two years of non-partisanship.

Ah yes, a beautiful country with a two party system... (and don't say the Independents have a voice)

Well this is nothing new.

I've seen liberals do this my whole life so you can't say it's the new kids.

Anytime there is a debate of any kind Liberals will say their piece then interupt the conservitive while they try to say theirs.
