Never did, you missed the point.  Navajo and BBQ turn threads into BK's, not me.  Oh well Morph, maybe one day.

"Since you've joined the BK's."

I've known you for how long now?

I can remember you getting pissed off at me when I was in the muppets for not giving on of your squad mates a Check 6 and he died while attacking a set of Ju88s.

I do get the point Mashburn, since I joined the BK's. Instead of even mentioning the BK's you could have just said, within the recent past.

I do get it. You missed mine. But you always have to be right. So whatever.

anyone see the differences in each person's Etiquette in this thread?

I have snapped, I am no saint, but mainly on the boards over something certian someones have continued to keep griping about.............but then again I don;'t really go off with the 3 and 4 and 5 letter obscenitys or stuff, I try to be more comical with adorable nicknames, but truly how many times have you seen that from me, especially........

still is up to all of us to decide what we allow to happen in game and not happen, and that my friends is how each and every online flight sim molds it's own community............for all the over 3 or 4 year gang that has flown in multiple flight sims, you all know this to be true..........the unwritten code of ethics of the particular game................and every game has them, but as for WW2 flight sims, they for the most part are better at molding their gaming community.................... .......

if you fly the Sims long enough, your actions and thoughts of it all do change with time to some degree, except for the Lemmings who never get it..........

dont worry. we all know morph's behaviour is giving the fine bk name a bad reputation.  expect this little problem to be eradicated in the near future so bk's can take their rightful place as the premiere and most respected squadron in Aces High...

While i do understand that you are using this to make Fartwinkle realize that things can be trival as pertaining to a game. I think its important to remember that we would be cursing at, and or around real people when we engage in such behavior over text or Vox Each and every one of them that are receiving Vox and or text, are a victim of such actions. As you have well said before Morph. Squad Channel content is at the discretion of the specific squad. Range, Vox and Text communications can be seen and heard by ALL that are within range and that can see the text buffer.

While I do realize what you are trying to explain to Farwinkle Morph, I think its important to keep it clear that in regards to a community of people, This mentality of "Its just a game" has got to END!!!! A “game” like Space Invaders where you play solely against an artificially intelligent opponent would be a game in the scenario you are trying to apply here. Aces High is made up of a community of people engaging in competitive game play with and against each other. Those are people that we are typing and talking to, not a computer. Those people have ears, eyes and feelings too. We have seen it hundreds of times. Player A spews out a barrage of textual or vox insults to the point where the victim or recipient of the dialog gets rather upset. Player B proceeds to tell Player A how rude or childish he is being, only to have the offender say Its just a game. Don’t take it so personally" Its like these offenders have figured out a way to convince themselves that the offended person is just a Thing or Object of there transgressions and not a real person. I think it sad and wrong when a player tries to find a moral loophole to justify his lack of respect for humanity in an attempt to make him/her feel better about mentally attacking his fellow man.
Maybe If we spent a little more time worrying about how foolish we look to our fellow man and a little less time worrying about how a fly on the wall thinks. We would be on the road to moral and respectful recovery.
Merry Christmas Aces. !

Mugz, I agree with most of what you said.

This is and always will be just-a-game. What you are doing when you log in and start flying is playing a game. All people, community and players aside........................ .. flying, fighting, living, dying ... It is only a game. It cannot possibly be anymore than just a game. To get ticked off because someone is not flying, fighting(playing the game) the way you want them to is a joke, those that do get ticked off over this stuff and start cursing at everyone around them, need to grow up, fast.

I do not in any way agree that abusing range vox is ok because of the simple fact that those around some idiot doing the abusing can squelch this idiot. I for one cannot stand range vox. It is the number one thing on my list of dislikes in the game. With all due respect, I dont agree with Hitechs' logic, I think it should be possible to kill range vox completely. It causes more problems than anything else in the game. How many "bad language" threads have there been over the years?

I agree with you that this is a community, Mugz. But in respect to the game, and part of what you do when you log in, which is play a game, its never going to be anything more than that. The people, the community, the players, sure they make up a great deal of what is known as Aces High. But the game aspect of Aces High will never be anything more than what it is. A game.

Not many things in life really get to me. This game and what people say to me, about me, or think about me, will never, EVER, be one of those things in my life that get to me.

I know of quite a few people who let this game get to them far too often.

So are you of the opinion that if someone calls someone else a "Tard" for example. And said recipient gets upset, that the recipient of said comment is letting the "Game" get to him or her rather than the comments of their fellow man? Doesn't anyone think about the fact that the word "Tard" for example is a derivative of the word "Retarded"? Wouldn’t most think that this would be offensive to the Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters of a retarded person if they see or hear these words spewed over VOX or text? Don’t you think some player’s use "GAME" as a shield or shelter to commit their offenses against real  "People" without the feeling of guilt? Sure, telling a player to remember that it’s just a "GAME" can help them ignore and deal with the offensive remarks of a Jerk. But not if the advise is coming from said offender in the heat of the exchange! Wouldn’t it be better if the offender just clearly states that he don’t care if they hurt the victims feelings instead of pretending that he or she is a respectable person that actually gives a hoot?
None of this changes the fact that in the eyes of the victim the transgressor has no respect or regard for his or her fellow man.
Not many things in life really get to me. This game and what people say to me, about me, or think about me, will never, EVER, be one of those things in my life that get to me. While this is a good way to keep ones feelings from being hurt on a personal basis. In most cases this disposition makes it easier to be an offender doesnt it? Kind of a "Everyone must think/feel like I do" or they are taking things too personally" thingy?
I guess in closing it is easy to see that the Transgressor is playing a "GAME" while the Victim is interacting with a community of people. Either way, we can’t change the way "People" feel. Therefore IF we are to be perceived as a respectful person. We must be mindful that it is "People" we are playing a "Game" with.  If we take any other position, we would likely be perceived as someone who isn't respectable nor deserves the respect due a fellow man.

wow Mugz, you have way too much time on your hands. I'm not even going to start to answer any of those questions. You already; if you have been reading what I have been saying, already know my answers to them all.

Thank you have a nice day.
