Unacceptable behavior-Not intended to be a gripe post.
« on: September 10, 2006, 05:06:59 AM »
Hello everyone, I wasn't going to post this topic but in light of the subjects that have been brought up by others, I felt that I should.  NCLawman and Guppy35 had made very good points and people responded in a positive way.  This I think is a little more serious though.

First of all, I'm an average pilot at best.  I try and learn how to ACM and never have I ran from a fight.  I like to consider most of the other people I've met are very honorable and have integrity when it comes to gameplay in the MA.  I know that this is just a game and everyone wants to have fun and anything goes in the MA.  Vulching and HOing is frowned upon but it happens.  Sportmanship and fair play is expected from everyone.

The other day in the MA, I was pretty much getting my butt handed to me in the usual way.  On one sortie, I was shot down and managed to bail.  Next thing I knew, I was straffed while I was in my chute.  I was a little ticked and I just let it slide without saying anything.  I figured it could have been by accident.  The next sortie, it happened again.  This time, as I was dangling like a worm under my chute, I saw the (colorful metaphores inserted here) jerk deliberately back around and kill me.

Needless to say, I was pretty upset (I was *&^%#@ pissed.)  I just logged off and grabbed a beer.  I know who that player was and I thought I would just embarrass them here.  I'm not going to do that.  I have integrity.

I would like to know one thing though....for players who get their jollies off killing pilots after they've bailed.  Does it make you feel more like a better pilot?  I mean really, if you already shot the plane down, you get the score of the kill.  You enjoy shooting a pilot with cannons and guns blazing?  What a sport!

Sorry everyone, I dont want this to get out of hand.  I'm just afraid that behavior like this could become an epidemic if it's not addressed  I dont want this to be another post to complain about everything that goes on in the MA.  I still plan on spending my $14.95 a month.  I'm not going to let some dink who has no idea of sportsmanship get under my skin.

to all the honorable players!

I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.

Killing chutes is the same thing as murder.

I've only done it when I don't want the other guy to get away with anything cause they've done something rather lame.  Like the guy who will avoid the 12 cons in the air to vulch the one guy landing.  In that, and similar cases, I have little sympathy.

:rofl

It wasn't me was it?  :t

I'm just kiddin'  :aok   nothing in this game really happens by accident, people are just lame and they get off on doing crap like this.  It goes back to guys carpet bombing guys in tigers just because they don't have the skill to hit them with 1 bomb.  Or the vulchers in FT or whatever else some of these arse clowns do.  Don't worry about it Obie, there alot of good guys & gals in this game.  Just go hunt the guy down and kill him and make him :cry

I dont really get that reason. As soon as the guy bails, he gets his death awarded and whoever shot him the kill credit. Killing him AGAIN in his chute will not give you a kill credit, nor come up in his scores as another death. The only effect it has is that you fire some bullets into empty space, reducing your hit%.....

What is even funnier is when you see the guy swing around and come back at you and get that nice well placed shot right between your eyeballs from his .45
Errrrrrr..... Hey wait a second (Sketch thinks back to last tour)
Hey wait a second! That just happened to me!!

By the way, since HTC gave chutes handguns, they are armed combatants of war and are valid targets.

yes! did i call it in the other thread or what.

hey, he is an armed combatant.  i always figured that i was doing them a favor by blasting them.  now if find out it's murder, man am i screwed.

if you want my real opinion, the fight is over anyhow so what does it matter.  it's not a real chute, and in my opinion has nothing to do sportmanship.  most people choose to go down with there planes, because it's faster, and you don't really die.  I find the ones bailing the most are usually people very concerned about their score, so they deserve to get their chute shot:aok

no one really dies,  it's certainly not worth getting upset causing you to drink.  if you don't want your chute shot, its simple, don't bail.

:lol u called it.

shootin chutes is a waste of time ammo and effort, doesnt give u points, so what does it give u. U want him dead make sure u hit him hard, i have done it... blow his tail off and keep shooting. I really see chutes, ill i see s people staying in the plane and hiting the ground, i always wondered why not punch out...... maybe the same jerk that shot u shoot them and they dont want to give me a chance.

I believe that you are wrong ... once he lands and goes back to the tower, he will get a "capture" or a "bail" ... which in turn impacts score.

Death Multipliers

Landed - 1.0
Discoed - 0.25
Bailed - 0.5
Ditched - 0.75
Captured - 0.4
Killed - 0.25
Crashed  - 0.25

I figure anyone who bails is trying to preserve their score ... meat puppets go BOOM.

Your airplane is NOT REAL ... your cartoon character is NOT REAL ... ergo ... no honor or integrity involved.

3 reasons to  kill chutes 1) its fun 2) cutes gives 6 calls and relay intel back to squaddys 3) they have a gun and like to plink troops that may trying to capture, or they plink you on the runway......
