How can you be 12 again?  Don't you need to get past 12 to be 12 again?

I kill all chutes, if for no other reason than it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. On the flip side, if I happen to bail, I dont get upset if someone else kills me as I hang there like a little meatbomb.

I had the experience of shooting at the guy trying to kill me in my chute. Hit his oil and he decided to leave. I wont shoot at a chute unless he is a recon threat. Posting a thread like this one will give you a good idea of game play is like in the MA. To some its just a game. To others its a simulation. Many of the people that say its just a game are the biggest comlplainers. Many are not. Sombody on a different thread said you should be pleasantly supprised when you run into an honorable act.

Some times it is better to turn it off and grab a cold one.:D

i shoot chutes.  i am a very bad person in real life, i have no honor and i am a shame to my community. lol.  i would respectfully disagree that actions you take in a game have any bearing what so ever on real life.  there are plenty of games that let you take on the role of a villian, it doesn't mean in real life you are one as well.  to say that how someone plays a game strongly reflects how they operate in society makes no sense, imho.   there are many games online games that focus on shooting other virtual characters and such, i'm surprised the whole world isn't running around fragging each other.

i might respectfully say that some people are taking this game far to serious.  so someone shot your chute, the horror. it's not like you don't get another pilot in 0.5 seconds.  bailing is risky buisness, it is in real war too.  i just don't know what else to say, except don't get shot down.

lol, always think of one more thing.  as far as this becoming an epidemic; is been going on for years and years.  as long as there have been chutes, they have been shot

Don't open your chute . . .
« Reply #35 on: September 10, 2006, 12:00:16 PM »
I almost never open my chute when I bail. Pop and clipboard and click on 'end sortie' and you'll get a bailed sucessful without ever opening your chute (and giving anyone time to shoot you).

Two days ago my brother was hanging in his chute and killed a Spit16 with one shot from his .45.

We have parachutes?  No one ever tells me anything! :)

Obie, best words I can give ya, is don't sweat it.  As long as no one is really dying and planes are free, there is nothing in AH worth getting worked up about.

The second you feel yourself getting mad and losing your cool, it's probably best to step back, have a beer and relax.

To be honest, I never bail.  I figure I get a new plane a lot quicker if I ride the wreckage in.  And I'm an expert at riding the wreckage into the ground :)

Honestly?  Until someone told me that they considered chutes pointmongers I always bailed if I could.  After that... *shrug* ride it in.  I'm not here for points.

In AHI, before chuters had a .45, You could not end sortie in flight. You had to wait until you landed to tower out.If they had alot of alt (Over 10k) you would sometimes see them on all channel asking to be chuteshot, as it was a 15-30 min. drop to the ground. Now, at that time, all you could do as a chute was act as an FO. You could still see GV icons, but that was it. Thing was, maps then had simpler terrain, and with terrain effects disabled, everything was more or less in flat planes. You would have to goto a town, city, factory, etc. in which to hide a GV.The FO function did'nt really have as much impact on the outcome of a ground fight. At this time, I remember alot of people would get mad about shooting chuters(no pun intended) and would scold greatly over the ALL channel. Enter AHII; Now, FO aircraft show at every GV battle, because now we have a terrain that really works. NOW, in this instance, a chute is as much a threat as the complete aircraft was, because he retains his FO abilities, He's just not as mobile. Add to the fact that quite often, now, you will see in a battle over a field town, When 'Base Suppression' arrives to shoot aircraft spawning on the ends of the runways, A fast plane (LA-7) will up out of the Fh, zip over as close to town as he can, bail out of a UNDAMAGED plane, just to hide in the maproom with his .45, so that he can foil said field capture. (Note:You could'nt do this in AHI, since the chute wasn't armed.) Due to the changes in the game, It's made changes to the gameplay. We're just gonna have to adapt, and cope, with this. Or go back to playing canned WWII flight sims against AI pilots who are 'programmed' to follow rules....

I Chute shoots:D  that are in the middle of furballs. Since, countless times i have been in a furball and mistake a chute from my kill that is behind me and brake into someone's bullets.:p  Or, I have surrounded a furball and dive in to get sime kills and I see the chute and turn towards it as a plane and then notcie it says chute and waste that. Now in a 1 on 1 if they pop the chute i'll fly by and tip my wing to em.

SuperDud, Pluck, it has been my personal experience that if a person is a jerk in the game, 99% of the time they are a jerk in real life as well.  People don't change their attitudes and manners just because they play a game.  They just figure nobody will know who they really are.  And before you say it, yes there are a very few that act like idiots on the computer but don't act like that in real life.  But as a general rule, it is the other way around.

If someone bails and would be a threat on the ground, kill them.  If someone bails miles from anything after a one on one, Salute them for a good fight.

I surely shoot the shoot if the p**ck tried to HO me, because it makes me feel good!

sometimes I bail, sometimes not, if I'm pissed at myself i just slam the stick and go get another drink.

If I feel like my virtual pilot dude did ok then he gets a chute:p

Last night i noticed there is a sound effect when getting shot in your chute, it made me laugh!

I dont care if someone shoots my chute
my resposibility to the lil pilot dude is over once I pull the ripcord :D
sometimes he takes a few shots at the planes if they get close, but thats all him!  I'm taking a leak and getting another beer! :t
