 I work in construction so I hear and see garbage every day. I can't stand it but I live with it to make a living for my family. But I will not allow it in my home. I try not to step on other people's toes and to respect their wishes. Why is it so hard for others to respect me in the fact that I don't want my daughter walking in to the room and hearing some one on range yelling a curse word? Our beliefs in what's acceptable or unacceptable might differ, and that's ok with me. I don't try to force mine on you so why force yours on me?

You specifically name one squad so I would have to say that you were either kicked out because of your behavior or just not wanted because of your behavior.  If you don't like what we say on our channels that are not "totally public" channels, then why do you force yourself to endure such pain in hearing this inflammatory, perverse, Gawd-Awful speech?  I know, you're addicted and nobody can help you de-tune, squelch, or ignore it unless you can get HT  and his staff to devote all HT and his staff's time to stopping it for you and stop their hard work on something like bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades to the game.  Yeah that's what I would expect from a game company! NOT!!!!!

I dont know why you guys are getting so bent out of shape. Have you gone to public school lately?  I can promise you that what is said on vox here is no where near as bad as what these kids hear at school.  Not to think that every TV show you watch has some sort of inappropriate language in it.  So to say that the Birds of Prey (Bops) are out of hand, you need to take a second look.  Oh yes I know you parents try so hard to keep your little ones locked up, but face it they hear stuff like this eveywhere.   Just turn on TV about 7pm and tell me there isn't  something "bad" on.  Tune in MTV. This isn't inapproriate? Wow wake up its everywhere just not here.  So if you want to rant about call your congressman. Im sure he or she whould love to talk about it.  If you get lucky they might take you to dinner.  (yeah)  So before you start to throw stones think about it.

However, rather than reporting people... generally a quick "Hey, guys, I've got a kid in ear-shot, can we keep the swearing on range to a minimum, please?" is more than sufficient.

I've heard someone say that before and when asked politely, i'm more than happy to tone it down.

As for the BOPs thing.... if you have to actively tune to their channel to hear their 'filth' you have no arguement. If you don't like it, get off their channel. Even if it's a numbered channel... you chose to tune to it.... so chose to de-tune it.

Range channel is the only vox channel that could argued about as having a 'code of coduct'.

Rather than go the reporting/muting/whatever route.... how about we just ask nicely?

You play this game at your risk. You need a credit card, thus, you need to be either 18, or have consent of someone older. If theres swearing over the txt, well, grow up.

HOWEVER, on the flip side, if YOU are swearing, and someone tells you "Hey, theres a kid in the room", youd better be able to shut it up. At the very LEAST on VOX.

Basically, it comes down to courtesy. I think if your gonna swear over the text, fine, kids cannot 'overhear' text. DONT swear over VOX, or at least try to avoid it.

Back in the days of AW every time someone used a swear word someone else was there to remind them to tone it down.  I'm really surprised some of you "old-timers" don't remember this.

I never curse on range.  Not that i'm richeous or anything, I use the F word in frustration too often on squad channel just because it's part of my vocabulary, our squad are all adults and I've only ever seen two outsiders tuned to our channel (they were flying together and exited as soon as asked).  I don't on range because I've heard of kids as young as 8 playing this game.  Granted there aren't many of them but it would be inappropriate around an 8 year old IMO.  Even at that I've started to try to restrain myself on squad as I know at least half of my squaddies have kids.

Personally, as much as I'd love to say and do whatever I want in the end I don't know whos listening and restraint isn't that difficult.
