I don't own me own nature show, mebe someday, but not now. And I wasn't "traumatized" by a cat when I was young, I wasn't even around cats till I was aboot 5, and I had no problems with them. They were me papaw's cats, and they ate catfood. They had no problems with me petting them, and they still don't. What I'm talking aboot is expiriences I've had with other cats, the kind that hunt their own food. One attacked me little brother, and he still has the scars. He was just sitting on the back porch, minding his own business, and it jumped on him, bit him in the face, on the arm, and clawed his face, barely missed his eyes, before we could beat it off him. However, I had pet snakes growing up, and I never had a problem out of them. Just like everyone else I've ever seen with a pet snake around here, you just hold it in your hands, let it crawl freely, and it won't bother you. It was a Burmese python. Pretty good size, aboot 4-5 ft. long. I had various other snakes, a corn snake, black rat snake, and a few brown (DeKay's) snakes. I had one red bellied snake. And a garter snake. They make great pets, they require food maybe twice a week, a somewhat large cage, and water. And I've seen very few aggressive snakes. And those were cornered, or in me hands. Snakes aren't out to get little kids. They aren't out to get people. A good snake is a live one.
