sounds like bs to me.. they could do it much more effectively by simply raising the snakes themselves in a habitat. If it takes swimming pools of the stuff then it is not worth it.

so again... how many people have been cured (other than people cured from .... snake bites) by snake venom?

You seem to have an erronous idea of how much venom a snake can produce. Snakes produce very little venom, at one milking you can get maybe 2-3 drops of venom, and you can maybe milk the snake once a week. It would take many snakes raised in captivity to produce enough venom to make the medicine. Whoch would be expensive and inefficient. It is much simpler to allow the snakes to live in the wild and collect them when you find them and milk them. A lot more snakes will live in the wild than you could raise in a lab.

And just what is worth saving a life to you? What if it was your daughter who had breast cancer, how far would you go to keep her from sufferring and to save her life? How much would you say was too much? I'm willing to bet that if it took thirty truckloads of venom to make enough medicine to save your daughter, you would do it. So would everyone else. I know what it's like to have a family member/really close friend with cancer. I know what it's like to have a family member with diabetes. I would do anything to cure them, even if it killed me.

Here's a shot of a handler milking just a bare few drops of venom from a rattler; note the bucket.

After this the snakes are made into good rattlers:

Notice that there were many rattlers? Notice that the venom was forced out? When milking snakes that are meant to stay alive, you don't force the venom out, it can hurt the snake. And why exactly were they slaughtering snakes?

No, Satan doesn't cry when a snake dies. It wasn't a snake that persuaded Adam and Eve to eat the fruit, it was the Devil himself, diguised as a serpent.

They kill the snakes to supply the kitchen with raw material, of course.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I have never milked the venom from a snake but I did talk to a guy who did and he said the rattlers he milked produced a hell of a lot more than a few drops at a time.  Have you ever milked on mcfarland?   have you ever even seen a real rattler?

and..  all that "stuff" on your land.. cars and such.... it isn't your "stuff" it is gods stuff you arrogant sob.

It depends on the way you milk them. If you force the venom out, you can get quite a good bit. If you just let them put out what they want, you will only get 2-3 drops, maybe 5 if the snake is really in a bad mood. Snakes don't waste their venom by putting out more than they need. But if you force the venom out, it can hurt the snake's venom glands, and can cause complications. If you are milking the snake so that it will live, you don't force the venom out.

well then.. I would appear that the snake handlers and venom harvesters are killing more snakes than I am since they are getting more than "a few drops" from them..

I you were humane at all... you would call for an end to the practice and allow only scientific milking at snake farms..

We could then just kill the rest of em in the wild.

And how would killing them all or putting them all into captivity (where they don't belong) be more humane? Seems there has been a lot of anti snake propaganda BS shoved down your throat.
