Unemployed guy, living with his parents, thought his mother was a virgin, she thought he was god, he hung out with a bunch of other unemployed guys all day, did not look for work, trouble with authority, and his girlfriend . . . .  :rofl

I think we are doing OK :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Those fellas talking trash when they loose sound like just plain old fashion poor sports and just can't handle the fact the guy they faced was either a better pilot, or had more luck on his side. If you loose a fight because of a mistake you made so what? Learn from it, respawn and got at it again. To say that some one cheated because they took advantage of your mistake nothing more than an excuse to cover the fact you messed up. Think about this folks, in the real airwar during WWII, mistakes made by pilots were capitlized upon by their oponents. There was no "cheating", and even the greatest of aces engaged in HO's on more than one occasion. ( I have read the books written by the aces themselves and they engaged in HO several times, I don't understand why that is determined to be taboo, labeled a rookie move, and people feel guilty when admitting to doing it   :headscratch: oh well) I suggest folks who play this game do some reading about real WWII aces and their fights (if you haven't already) it is some intresting stuff and you will learn a lot about fighter pilots. Just my 2 cents.
I know I can fly and I know I can shoot, just not at the same time.

with me....if i happen to win.....it's luck. i don't care though, as the fight is what's fun for me.

well....that, and landing on enemy runways lately.  :noid

as for ho'in being taboo? i try to not do it. my life doesn't depend on it, as the real pilots lives often did. i like to maneuver for the kill if i can......

look at it like this. one of the fights i mentioned, was a nearly co-alt, and co-e merge....he lost advantage, and chose to ho, rather than try to regain it. i did ho back. dint want to, but i did.

last night, i had a couple fights against dedalos again....if one could call them fights. first one was nearly co-alt, co-e merge. i lasted almost 4 turns i think.
second one, i had a serious alt advantage. i screwed up, and he while still at the disadvantage had at least two....count em...two chances to ho me. he chose to continue the fight, and (unfortunately for me)he eventually got me.

the difference here? they're both vets.......both excellent sticks. but one chose to take the cheesy way out. was med alt, c2 vs 38.....he may well have won without ho'ing.

Be sure when you finally read about WWII, you cover the part where when they died they and could not respawn. This is a game, a competition, not real life.

Personally I'd rather have one good fight than land ten kills.

Exactly Shuffler, it is a GAME, so have fun with it. BTW Cap I hope you don't think I was saying that you were the one claiming cheat when things don't go your way. I was making a general referance to (usually a noob or rookie) the pilot who makes the mistake in any engagement, looses, then makes excuses. I will agree a good fight is better than a quick kill, think of it like this... which fight would say is worth the money and watcing? Mike Tyson knocking out some guy in 18 seconds of round one, or Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti slugging it out full on for the full 12? Having said that, in the right situations, I don't think anyone should feel guilty about HO's. Myself, I just like flying and fighting, I don't care about my score or rank (which is in the toilet) but when I loose, I salute my oponent wether he killed me quick, or after a good fight. I'll stop ranting fellas.  :airplane:

times when a ho is reasonable(to me anyway):

when outnumbered
when damaged badly
when ho'd first

and i didn't think you were directing that at me. i don't generally accuse anyone of cheating. when i lose(often the case) i still consider it a win, if it was a fun fight. i get film to watch and learn from.

you are also mistaken. more often than not, it's not new guys doing this poop. it's the vets that should and do know better......but they seem to let their egos get in the way/.

i'll take a dozen losses against shuffler, sonic, grizz, dedalos, soulss, and a host of others that are a blast to fight against, rather than a single jousting match with some doof that can't stand the possibility of his cartoon airlane getting shot down.  :aok

Nah, the best fight is the one were the guy fighting Tyson is running around the ring, hiding behind the ref while talking crap in hopes that one of his friends trips Mike  :rofl

Cap1, part of the gaming mentality is unfortunately this kind of stupidity.  Some pilots have to cover their weeny manliness (or maybe womanliness, who knows...) with Hindenburg sized egos.

If you kill them from a lower e-state, you were lucky.
If you kill them from a higher e-state, you're a picker.
If you kill them in anything but a P-40, you're a skillless noob in an uuberplane.
If you refuse to fight the fight on their terms, to their own planes strengths, you're (insert one of several popular words for "unmanly").
And regardless, for a number of pilots, no matter how they died they somehow died because they "were typing" or "AFK" when you did so.

Just shrug it off.  If there's too much crud on 200, just detune for an hour or two.
If you're being pm'ed, just .squelch
If you're being pm'ed the wrong kind of crud, .report and then .squelch.

But most important  - after doing either one - .laugh, then .forget.
They aren't worth another moment of your time, or so much as another thought.   If you think about it, you'll realize that the small potatoes really are such a small percentage of the players that the real crime is to let them cause you to lose sight of just how many class acts there are in the game.

He called me an alt monkey and other various things for not attacking from long six. When I got done with him I killed his escort who was co-alt flying formation on the initial bounce.

 :lol

Strip

Sounds like Nisr.  He called me an 'alt monkey freak' for taking off at a base he was bombing, climbing 3k above him and then diving down and killing his buffs.  He was rather upset that I dove to attack instead of attacking his buffs from dead six.

I shot down a P38 pilot who is ranked quite high, twice, both times he was AFK.  The first time I timed it just right and caught him just as he came out of his own dar, then his plane must of rolled right all by itself just as I opened fire, the second time he was over my base on dar aand I suppose he thought that was a good time to be AFK also.

My squad and I are still laughing about the "AFK" call.  Maybe AFK stands for "I wasn't paying attention and died before I saw you", because "IWPAADBISY" takes too long to type.
