Pearl Harbor?  Are you serious?  Or perhaps (hopefully?) you were thinking of "Tora Tora Tora" and not the Ben Affleck version?

Back to the topic, I've always thought a movie about the flight that took out Admiral Yamamoto would be a good 2 hour movie.  Or a movie about Frank Luke and/or Eddie Rickenbacker would be good.

No. I intended it as written. To clarify. Pearl harbor was an example of a  movie that shouldnt have been made. Because  of Tora Tora Tora.
If you notice. the other movies I listed were all failed remakes.

I) A movie about the Eagle Squadrons -the first American volunteers in WWII
II) A movie about JV 44 the Me-262 unit. Fortunately they are 5 262 replicas now so they don't have to make the movie using crap digital effects

Go watch "Restrepo".  Nothing Hollywood could produce would equal the real thing...

Personally, I'd like to see a movie about Tarawa.  Watching those guys wade 600 meters through that lagoon would be more excruciating to watch than the airfield attack on Pelielu in the Pacific.  Or, fast-forward 7 years and do one (or a mini-series) on the 1st MarDiv at the Chosin Reservoir.  Korea has never gotten much love from Hollywood.

I agree with something about the Korean War.  About all we have is MASH.

I would like to see a good WW1 war movie, and a good WW2 movie focusing on aerial combat of the Luftwaffe in the final days of the war, struggling to slow down the Allied bombing campaign whilst faced fatigue and inexperienced pilots.

I could dig that too... I was watching a great show on the battle for the Atlantic and was thinking a new U-boat flick (without Mathew McConihay) would be great.

MASH was more of your standard comedy than a war series/movie

granted there were many moments that showed the harsh reality of war

They are supposed to be making "Lone Survior"

http://www.amazon.com/Lone-Survivor-Eyewitness-Account-Operation/dp/0316044695/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1284501769&sr=8-1

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1091191/

But Peter Berg the director put it on hold while he focuses on the movie "Battleship"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1440129/

No Battleship will not be a movie on WW2 battleships, but on the board game we all played as kids.

A movie based on the Book "Blind Mans Bluff" true story of covert events that went on during the cold war

if you have read it, my Dad served as a Lt.Cmdr on the Seawolf and Shark (Sister Ship of the Scorpion)

Unfortunatly he passed before this became de-classified, so he never talked about it

good litte read here if intrested

How about a good movie version of the novel Battle Cry. Great novel, but the movie made way back when is awful.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
