Follow up on an earlier post.  Drop the icons we have now for Gv's and go with "AFV" if it is a tank,  and "AAA" if it is a flak.  That way you dont know if its a tiger or another perked tank until you fly over it.  It would I think bridge a gap between those who want the icons off to hide you vehicle type and those who want them on for GV's.

+1 this sounds best. As a gv'er and a bomb****, I think this is one of the best solutions I've heard in a long time. There really is no point in attacking with a high value tank unless you want to lose the perks. Heck just the other day I took a tiger II out from an airfield to drive in to a vbase, one P51 who was porking ord saved a 1000lbs bomb and killed me 500ft from the runway. Had he just seen "AFV" id bet he would have contiued to drop the ord on the large field he was at. Insted he got a hardon for me. (Then I uped anotherone, after 4 kills he came looking for me and missed). Point being guys go out of there way to kill a tiger or perk tank even change there intended mission to do so. Id love icons off but changing to "AFVL and "AAA" is imho a nice comproise

+1 I can see this. I do both as well and nothing's more aggravating than having a Hvy Ftr divert from the base to your Panther/Tiger, etc. from the drool of perky points...But why different for a Wirble/Ossie/M-16 vs tank? Could real attack ac see if it was Ack, or tanks from far away? Hmmmm? Food for thought. I have no firm opinion yet. :old:

If the icons that enemy aircraft get are limited, so too do the icons that friendly aircraft get need to be limited.  None of this "Drag that Spitfire over me." crap we have now.  Why should the friendly airplane magically be able to see where a friendly AA vehicle is 6000 yards away when the enemy cannot?  These things didn't have GPS and satellite communications updating their positions for each other.
