I agree 1v1 is much more accurate, but we aren't discussing accuracy, we are discussing format and scheduling.

A ladder would have still have more opportunities than KOTH. Like look at what Glzz said.

Since the brackets will be separate, why don't those who have committed to their 2 to 3 plane series figure out what kind of scheduling it will be.

let me ask you a question....

do you like good tough fights?

I am guessing you are gonna say "yes"

its simple

players and planes are randomly drawn

loser picks next plane

best of 7 or 10

meet at an agreed ALT,

NO going above agreed upon ALT before icon range

25% fuel

icon vis range anything goes.

I like competition, I like objective rules. We are discussing an event that would decide who is the best in a particular plane. Old, dead ladders are old and dead for a reason.

Lots of people don't in the DFC ladder because they think they wont be able to place, having multiple brackets for different planes gives you lots of winners.

He means the ladder takes place at a pre-scheduled time each period (weekly, monthly, etc. - e.g. Friday nights at 9PM). Ladder rules, but with a "show up on time if you want to compete" format. If you miss it, there's always the next time around.

He means that, Round ONE will be for example: Monday 9pm EST - 11pm EST, if you cant make it, your forfeit and are elimnated, or put into "wrestlebacks"

Round Two same time as last week,

etc, etc

Right? :headscratch:

Because, you will be in and out in about an hour, 2 at most.

1 month per plane.

Week One, full bracket. 1 set of fights (more if we do two planes per bracket) 7 duels take about an hour.

Week Two, winners bracket
Week three, losers bracket
Week four, finals, king of the plane crowned.

Right, something like this, we can solidify these ideas as we go.

So is the idea of running more than one bracket at the same time abandon?

Winner will be probably the guy who wins all his duels.in the end you will have someone from the winners bracket fight someone from the losers bracket the difference is that the person from the losers bracket has to beat the person from the winners bracket twice in a row (This rarely happens, but when it does it's awesome)

Most other competitive online game tournaments are held in this fashion or something similar to this, of course we can customize it to fit everyone's needs.

Kind of, the first week is full (everyone participates)
Second week
Third week is two brackets
Final week those two come back together for final.

I also just thought. For the second and third week we can have optional scheduling as well, so it adds more flexibility,

Writing from my phone right now, will type something up that's more detailed later.
