Warbirds Sitrep for this week...New stuff...
« on: June 09, 2000, 02:17:00 PM »
Iceman posted this just the other day.

Planned and conducted two WarBirds III meetings.

Delivered new versions to Quality Assurance of WarBirds III demo for defect testing. This included both the
                    Windows and Macintosh versions.

The T1 is in production at the Sheraton Imperial for the CON2000. All the CON2000 T-shirts have been delivered.
The hat with player handles will be delivered by June 15. Players can still register for the Convention through the
web site, but they are no longer guarenteed to get a hat with their callsign on it.

We posted on the CON2000 web page to tell the convention attendees to please bring their own Ethernet cables.
The Ethernet cable needs to be 10 base T. We still have cable from last year, but it will only work with 10baseT
cards. Cable will be available for those who don't have it, but it will be best if the players bring what they know
                    will work with their system.

Kent 'ICEMAN' East had an interview with DogFighter.com about the Arena Changes we have done. Check it
                    out at http://www.dogfighter.com/interviews/show.php3?interview=960287198

Held two Demo's of WBIII for players. The Terrain Editing system was given to a player to test the "outside"
                    creation of WB2 terrains.

The Battle of Jutland event is 17JUN00. Registration is still open and info can be read at
                    http://www.dweebsofdeath.com/jutland/

The S3 was started up again on 03JUN00. The only reported problem was an arena cap at 250 players. This has
                    been corrected.

Fighter Ops (AOL Keyword FIGHTER OPS):
                    1. In the process of getting one of our former CL's back on boards.
                    2. Distributed the files needed to more of our CL's for the AOL test area. We are testing the coming update.
                    3. Held an events committee meeting Thursday, June 08, to begin WB style events in FO.
                    5. We will have our 19th WABBIT Event Friday, June 9, at 8:00PM EDT.

                    Dawn of Aces:
                    1. Tested the log procedure in the DOA MA. It appears to be working correctly.
                    2. Held the "Best of the Best" event in the Dawn of Aces Main Arena Wednesday night.

Hedu,
I know that you are posting this here because of the posts from some of the AH flyers on AGW.  I really can't blame you either.  Plus I think its good to share news within the sim community regarding other sims.  If you think about, we are all just ONE big community.

I'm glad to see that the new versions of WBIII has been released to the Quality Assurance folks.  It looks like the pace of planning and conducting meetings is definately picking up.

As for me, I can't wait for the AH 1.03 to be released to the community!

Udie, I would expect a slightly better reaction than that, please.  Alot of the AH pilots are WB pilots also, and vice versa.

"That company SUX!"      How mature.

Warp rolls?  What warp rolls?

Rip, I will try to make it to the Olympia Warbirds event and finally say Hi in person.

Hedu, thanks for the update.

I hope WBIII is great, if it is not there is less pressure on other online sims to work for my money.

I have never really understood the bashing of other sims that is such a great part of the overall flightsim world.

We all benefit from the success of sims we do not fly. They keep the bar moving up if well done.

I hope WWII Online is very good also and if it or WBIII beat AH with a better game, service and price then that is life.

But, here I stay until that happens

(The check is in the mail HTC.)

If they get rid of HS then you may get a better reaction from me.  Maturity?  Hmm how mature is it to backstab your beta testers and trainers?

That company SUX.  I didn't say anything about the game. Please just post this stuff in the off topic forum. And sorry if it seems im dumping on you Hedu, but im not    I just REALY don't like that company.

LOL you call that a sit rep????????

"D'uh today we changed the toilet paper in the mens washroom (it ran out)........"

If you got *real* news  besides how many hats they purchased today, I'm sure everyone here at AH would appreciate the info....since as you said, we are all one community - to which I agree.

But those rediculous sitreps are a pathetic attmept to appease a group of players that have been completely left in the dark about the future of their game for close to a year now.

I personally find them insulting.

Kats, the demo of WBIII is not toilet paper.  We get these every week, and they let us know what is going on with our sim.

Amazing the chutzpah of some people.

ReallY?

What's the ETA of WB3?
How far along is any aspect of the development?
Will it go flat rate or not?
What new planes are being added to WB3?
Are they including a voice comm package?
Any new innovative features whatsoever in regards to viewing or icon systems?
Any new innovative features in regards to strat and gameplay?
What will be the minimum system spec?
Any advances to the FM like dynamic COG or component lift modeling?

Does anyone have any clue at all aside from the outside a/c art on a few planes what is happening with wb3?

Didn't an employee get muzzeled for revealing too much information about your forthcoming and open door policy company?

So tell me hedu, what will WB3 be like? Did I miss a sitrep that explained it all, or did I miss an invite to one of those "We had a WB3 development meeting" thingies.

KATS, I'll see Warbirds 3 at the WB convention in less than two weeks, guaranteed.

Serious.

I am a subscriber to both sims, and trust me, there is no reason for each group to be tense at each other.

Competition! Yeee har! I cant get enough of these high quality programs.

Viva la Wabirds!
Viva la Aces High!
Viva la WWII Online!
