Did anyone actually read this post? HT is saying that your guns will jam intermitantly as well as not fly up to spec because of lame aircrews? What's up with that? It's hard enough to fly in a vulch arena without getting run down when your Pratt&Whitney overheats and the Japanese A/C following you, running on tree sap doesn't. The wines will bring down the walls. The people that will excel are the pasty skin guys that never leave there homes. Unless there is going to be a seperate charge for this homer I'll be sticking with "Aces High Classic" before I switch to the "New World Order".

In anycase try these names.

1. Get a life, you haven't left home in a month.

2. Broken Wings and Bent props.

3. Smell my finger.

4. Bogies and Bandits

5. Hunters and the Hunted.

6. Tally Ho!!

7. The Classic and clear winner To Fly and Fight

Aces High: Trying to get folks to stop wishing this was Air Warrior but we changed too much stuff and its too late now so we'll compete with WW2 Online not that we really have to but what the heck it'sa game Ain't it?

Well the way I see it:

You have 2 games...

1. An Air Combat simulator: aircraft fighting each other ('main' arena).

2. An Air Warfare simulator: organized groups of aircraft fighting an air war against each other ('mission' arena).

Title:

Aces High 2.0: Air Warfare & Air Combat Simulator

(I like '2.0' better than 'II'...'2.0' is improved software, 'II' is a half assed movie sequel that should never have been attempted)

And the abbreviation will grab attention long enough to get people to read what the game is all about...

AH2: AWACS

...no one has ever done an AWACS sim before, right? So it will grab people's attention. When they read the breakdown of the acronym I'll bet they'll download the software for the 2 week free trial period.

Also, in the next version put everyone's icon and typed text in a different color if they are 'new' - this will let the general population of the MA know they are dealing with someone new.

Also, in the next version put a 'best of' listing for all the TODs...

Most kills in a TOD: pilot handle, squad (if any) and TOD #

Most kills landed in 1 sortie: pilot handle, squad (if any) and TOD #

...etc.

Tag lines for 2.0:

'Aces High: Who did you shoot down last night?'

'Aces High: America's #1 cure for road rage'

'Aces High: The sure fire way to blow things up and not piss off the FBI'

'Aces High: Only $15.00 and 25,000 Husband Points a month'

:)

Also, I'd suggest you contact Robert Shaw, CDR, USN (ret.) and work out some deal like when someone signs up for a new account they can buy a copy of his book for 10% off.

Just some ideas.

Umm you guys complaing about possible little generals miss the point. Those main generals are mostly concerned with war winning and base capture. If understand correctly there will be no field capture in the new arena and the missions will not be genrated by players. So the "join my mission" and "follow me to victory" calls wont be there. You whether join a mission, complete it and live or you dont. I suspect the mt will appeal to squads more hen individuals as I dont see to many 1 man mission being successful.

People have suggested a "mission leader" based on rank who has the power to remove those in a mission who are disruptive. This is a good idea but ht hasnt said anything 1 way or the other.
