stickman... everyone here gets along fine... it is a lovefest but... We simply don't like you personaly..  so far.. you are the only guy that is universaly ignored.

Community "somewhat lacking"??   there are more former WB players in here than there are players in the current WB.   Probly if they haven't made the move yet they're not worth having.

"Thanks for responding again, Stickman..... however, looking through this thread, I see lots of very helpful posts..... one or two "bashers" maybe, but the majority of us have genuinely tried to help you. I'm sorry if you see this differently, but can assure you that I for one was only trying to help you understand the radio better.... and others have tried to help with other aspects. I do hope you are not tarring us all with the same brush....  There really is a great community here, which I am sure you will discover for yourself if you do decide to stay - nothing wrong with playing both WB and AH; I did the same with Air Warrior and AH before making my final, albeit enforced, move."

I should've said there are certain portions of the community that are severely lacking, rather than state that the community as a whole was found wanting, you're right. At any rate, there are far fewer childish squables on the air in Warbirds than in Aces High. This was evident in the first 10 minutes I spent online (mostly because there is but a fraction of the playerbase in WB, vs AH), but that's not exactly what I was trying to convey in my initial post either.

And again, about getting questions answered online, I believe you're missing my point. Aside from the occaisional moron who jumps into a flight sim without knowing anything at all about flying and expects every little question to be answered by other players, I think it's perfectly reasonable for other players to be expected to be happy to answer simple questions about keystrokes, etc. that aren't the same from one sim to another. A good example is the key to expand the text buffer...in Warbirds it's the Tab key, in AH it's the Grave key. Without reading through and memorizing the entire keymapper, it's unlikely a former Warbirds player would know this, and asking another player should be perfectly reasonable. I asked, and a few minutes later another player gave me the answer, I thanked him and that was that. This was, I'm pretty sure, the only thing I found out from another player in-game. You see, I wasn't asking for help here, I was merely stating that it seemed difficult to get other players to be helpful in the game. Maybe the times I was on the other players were very busy, or not in the mood to answer my stupid questions, or maybe Lazarus was on and instructing everybody to ignore me. Whatever the case, I'm just trying to tell you, all of you who don't take the time to answer legitimate questions from new players, that it could prove to be more harmful than not. It was meant to be polite and constructive criticism. And instead of taking that for what it's worth, some people have decided to take it as a personal insult, and an opportunity to initiate a flame war on the forum.

"I sincerely hope you do continue to try Aces High and keep on playing once the free period has ended. If you ever see me in any of the arenas, please feel free to ask for any help you need directly."

Thanks, the extended hand is appreciated.

"stickman... everyone here gets along fine... it is a lovefest but... We simply don't like you personaly.. so far.. you are the only guy that is universaly ignored. "

Yes, of course they do. That's why so many insults are slung to and fro, both in the game and on this forum.

I also do my best to answer questions but there is another side to this coin and that is when you do take time to help and then YOU yourself are ignored.Quite annoying too! :)

70% of the time you get a thanks for the help but all too often the player uses the info and doesnt even bother to answer when we ask 'has it solved your problem?'. Im afraid its the way of the internet as the world is full of rude players as well as helpfull and polite ones.

Stickman avoid this General BB. About the only time I read this General Forum is when squadie points something out to me or a CM does.

Just like the real world this place is full of egos.

I sincerely hope you come to enjoy Aces High as much as I do.

Revvin,

Thanks!!  Nope I am here to stay.  I love it!  Yep channel 1 is a bit much but with 5-700 guys the .squelch 1 works for me.

Warbirds FM is just lacking.   The WBs servers are just too "flakey".  I have 1 Meg cable and tweaked and just got dang tired of the F15 to F20 nightly fight on the same Terrain for 2 years.  IEN missed the boat.  For me it ended a 6 year run.  I'm not an Ex-WarBirder.  I am a Aces High Virtual Pilot....and happy 'bout it

blkmgc, yeah I think we just need some dedicated bomber squads to move in with some dedicated escort FG's and the bomber part of this would "Rock & Roll".

This is so good and AHII is on the way.  It's Christmas every night.

Ah, OK.... understood.  As others have said, I think it is probably due to the sheer numbers in the game at the moment - I understand you were in the CT, but even there I think there have been a lot more players than usual, and the text scrolls past so fast questions often get missed.  Possibly you missed any answers for the same reason?

As for experienced players asking questions..... if people realise you are experienced, they tend to answer sensibly - as I found out for myself a month or so ago, when I was flying a Stuka and wanted to know what key the dive flaps was.  Others knew I wasn't a newbie and several people gave me the answer.  However, if they see a name they are unfamiliar with, they tend to presume it is somebody who "hasn't a clue" and, unfortunately, the answers (if any) can then get silly.  I've no idea why this is..... personally, if I know the answer to a question I see asked, I will always answer it.  I am just sorry that your experience was not good, and hope that it improves in future.

Anyway, hope to see you in the MA sometime.  :)

Good to hear Dracon! I'd like to think Blkmgc and Stickman would stick around too but hard to take seriously from comments made before about AH and its community elsewhere but who knows perhaps they will stick around.

Nothing wrong with flying two sims and getting the best from both which is what I'm doing now with AH and WBIII but perhaps for the first time in a long time it feels like perhaps iEN is listening and I feel the current WB dev team more approachable than the last and perhaps the March release will be the start of good things.

Always nice to see familiar faces from WB, I approached the 31st FG about possible escort and would love to maybe hook up with you guys if timezones permit (we fly Sunday's at 8PM which makes it about 3PM EST I believe?) We're a historically based bomber squad always happy to get a few little friends come along with us as we go deep into enemy territory to hit the strat targets. There is an odd myth being perpetuated that there are no serious bomber squads in AH  ;)

Saw that picture when it was trotted out the last time the state of bombing in WB was mentioned, was part of a multi squad meet up and not indicative of what I see online, hell for the past week there have been 25 players in the WB WW2A. No.9 stopped running ad-hock missions on squad nights after my comms starting messing me about but quite often you would see 14+ bombers in one mission...so much for the myth of no organised bombing in AH :)

We dont do squad opps in the WWII arena (what squad does??) lest its non S3 time.

I'll post some fresh ones for ya if you'd like from this Sundays frame, or better yet just drop into the private arena and watch the  550th roll from F3. :D

Oh, and to your multisquad roadkill trot on over and match the callsigns here

http://www.totalsims.com/squads/squadrons.php?sall=1&op=all

Evreyone of them 550th to the core bud;)

Don't worry yourself over it. We'll just have to manage without you somehow.

What do you think the reaction would be over at agw if folks posted AH screenshots there?

That site isnt even owned by ien. Yet you, a guy who has jumped all over Ah'rs from posting stuff there, come here with your hypocracy and post screens on a company bbs.

Dont tell me the tot 3k daisy chain aint the norm there, I have seen it my self.

As for the "cv harassing" screen that just comfirms it. That and you get to hide behing 80% lethality and buff tuff.......

Like I said to think there are actual folks "dedicated" to such stuff.

Hmm I don't even LIKE stickman,
But yep, the community here by and large sucks,

It's why I left in the first place,

It's why I've decided not to come back,

Spare me your virtorlic reponses, I do NOT fly very well, my gunnery is an open joke in 3 flighsims, but I wouldn't care.

What I care about is a tard loggin into the CT to ask on common why we are wasting resources, resources that I suppose could be dedicated to the uberlatewar hialt gangbang without end that some bemusedly call the MA.

well excuse us for not wanting to play AIRQUAKE, must really suck to have to try a different way to play
