Most annoying internet mis-spellings

We have to excuse American spellings. ;)

But here are a few that drive me to distraction...
  • Loose & Lose
  • Your & you're
  • its and it's - note "it's" only ever means "it is". "Its" (without the apostrophe) means belonging to it.
  • they're & there & their - too long to explain to an illiterate doofus.
  • "My bad", instead of "my mistake".
  • Use of apostrophe. Some people seem to put one before the last letter of any word ending in an S. Saw a post once entitled "Bad news for the Californian's"
  • Given instead of Giving.
  • definiately instead of definitely
  • Accommodation, embarrassing, necessary -  read and learn these correct spellings.


Sometimes the spelling and grammatical inaccuracies of posts in here are so bad that the meaning of the sentence (assuming that the writer is at least capable of constructing proper sentences) is almost lost. What it tells me is that these folks don't do much reading. But I soft pedal on this stuff generally. Some folks can't spell, but are brilliant in other ways.

People who quote themselves in their sig. Inexcusababible.

And people who assume race has anything to do with spelling mistakes or gramatical error.

Like what do you expect?
I can find many posts... but I suspect you wouldn't validate those.

You probably mean the political side and not the 'nothing particularly interesting' discussions.. and last months have been not so good with US politics, so is it really a wonder if I don't say much good in US politics related discussions, when I'm on the opposing side of US politics?

Besides, I oppose some of the US political views, not the people.
An American, who refers to french fries as freedom fries, boycots french products and slanders the french, has much worse anti-nationality mentality than I ever have had.


Obviously it's OK to be anti-euro (especially anti-french) on a hard way than be "anti-american" in a ways which really isn't being an anti-american.

So go figure. :rolleyes:

Wrong again!  People who were bashing France in a "hard" way were explicitly told to tone down the harshness, yet racists like you are allowed to continue here as long as your vitriol is directed towards the U.S.

I'd rather change the euro to french.
However I didn't anywhere defend the french, just said to Steve that those americans are much more anti-french than I've ever been anti-american or anything like that.

No reason to defend french either in hypocriticism area.. if you want more recent example, you should have used the polish EU membership as an example.
First there was nothing wrong with the poles joining EU, but then they became friends with US and now the french goverment is against polish EU membership.
