Heck Ramesis we should probably push for it to happen in Birmingham then. Its a little far from Pensacola and Mobile buts its in my backyard and you are not far from here. Maybe we could con Jordi into getting it setup again and let us host it...;) Other than that I wouldn't mind seeing it happen in Texas again say in the late fall of 2004.

Hell no I ain't hosting.  I want to enjoy the Con :D.  You busted your bellybutton for this past Con and while I greatly appreciate your efforts, it didn't look like fun to me.  Besides, I don't even live there ;).

But I really like the Grapevine location, because (off the top of my head):
  • It's within sight of the airport so taxis are cheap
  • You get eggs-to-order with your all-you-can-eat "free" breakfast
  • There's a microbrewery next door that sells gallon jugs so I don't need to bring my own homebrew
  • They don't complain about coolers and booze in the con room
  • There's a liquor store right across the freeway
  • There's decent free porn on the TVs
  • HTC's based nearby so you can meet the whole staff and they're around for technical problems
  • HT himself can get plastered because he doesn't have to fly home
  • My sister lives 5 minutes away so I can crash at her place Sunday to rest up for the drive home, and that counts as a visit to her so she quits nagging about that without me having to make a special trip out there

All good points.

Now do you know anyone ELSE who lives close by that can host it ?   :)

I've noticed this statement has been repeated several times in this thread. Is this a hint that HTC will no longer host Cons?

Jordi... thanks for hosting the 2003 con.  It really was apreciated.  What you are doing in this thread is diminishing that contribution greatly.

But MiniD, are you willing to HOST it if he STFU?

Because he was WILLING to HOST it so that HTC can ENJOY themselves.

Maybe if HTC hosts it in Texas they might show up.  They always have in the past.

The hosting in Indiana was apreciated.  I don't mean to slight anyone for the hard work they put into it.

And I don't like the chip that was placed on someone's shoulder as a result of it.

Once again... thanks for the effor Jordi.  Just please don't think it makes you some kind of official criticizer of everyone that wants it back in Texas.
